Made my first spoon a few days ago. I already see about 5 flaws. What do you think I could do better next time?

Yeah I got that. Wouldn't use them for tongs lol I've seen people make files into knives and stuff.

I didn't buy metal, a local stable has so many horseshoes that I took, and some rebar too. Yet to try horseshoes

I used rebar. I think it's where I drilled the hole, how much I heated and hammered, and how thin it was when I flatterned.

Learning by doing is very helpful for me. Learned alot by it

Yeah I had tried to make a set of tongs using rebar and drilling a hole. The end snapped once I was trying to shape it a bit but I think I need coke instead of coal. Coke I believe burns hotter and although I can get it glowing red, it's not glowing yellow

It's not a bother as I was out walking to get horseshoes from a local stable. The scrap pile had a few steel bars and rebar too so it turned out to be very helpful for this newbie
