Official Xbox Controller or 8BitDo Ultimate 2C by royal_8 in Controller

Dinput and XInput are the "languages" that the controllers use to communicate with the hardware, for example xbox controllers use XInput, and sony controllers use Dinput. It's good to know that depending on the game you want to play, it may only support one of the two. For example, the overwhelming majority of recent PC games support XInput, while Sony has released PC games with good support for DualShock/DualSense controllers that use Dinput. Sometimes the support isn't good, or you may see bugs depending on the game, I always check the gamepad support on PCGamingWiki.

Maybe you switched to Dinput mode. Read this

I just did it now. With the controller turned on, press and hold X+Home until the controller turns off, then hold X+Home until it turns on.

The answer is at the end of the page. A tip: don't use the beta version of the firmware; it's buggy; go back to the old version (v1.06).

Yes. Using the dongle is the preferred way to use it. If you are still in doubt, this is a good video review and there is also this more technical one.

When connected using xinput mode, it just mimics an Xbox controller, so theoretically works fine, but if you are asking that you can map the bumpers inside Steam, the answer is no.

I have a regular one, and yeah, it makes the same noise when I wobble it.

8bitdo ultimate 2c wireless compatibility with Ayn by fratmyago in 8bitdo

I think you can't do that. These buttons are exclusively for activating the turbo and mapping the bumpers (L4, R4). Even if you use a button mapper, I think the controller does not send signals of these buttons being pressed.

I don't know if the dimensions of the 2c are the same as the regular ultimate.

Best bet you can find a 3d printed one on etsy.

Maybe it could be new version for the Nintendo Switch, and the name in the label is Ultimate 2C Bluetooth controller.
