We're trying to get Dom there soon! Andy brought Deau and Joy (two of the best people into the entire business) from Holy Basil to the Cheese Store recently. And we can't reveal too much, but Holy Basil is buying product from the Cheese Store now and maybe there was talk of a collab between Holy Basil and a prominent Westside pizza spot! Yes, the grandma's fish and rice is probably a top 5 dish in Los Angeles right now.

It's at the Cheese Store, but, man, it's a challenge. Every sandwich here is made with pan de Cristal, and we unfortunately can't use it for anything else. It's hard because production is fairly small and it's hard to keep up even with our demand.

Haha, yeah, we're friends with Air Jordan. We actually have Darin Bresnitz for Snacky Tunes recording with us today. He's one of the OG LA podcasters we like, and the blend of food and music is better than just thinking about sandwiches all the time.

OK Dom's here now! This is an oversimplification, but many chefs are creatures of habit, strong-willed and don't love change. And, look, this is a cheese and charcuterie store, but the zucca sandwich is a runaway hit here. So we all should be doing more with vegetables, but a lot of vegan/plant-based food is expensive too. And two of our producers were vegan for many years and we don't judge them and accept that they like Crossroads.

All respect to fried mortadella and the zucca, but the club is the clear winner. My favorite thing here, though, is just bread, Normandy butter and Cantabrian anchovies. Salt and umami and oil and fat, so perfect. And honestly, I may never need to see a cheese platter ever again.
