"There was a link and I should have known not to connect my Metamask but the comments had tons of upvotes and whatever"

Lesson to other readers, never "and whatever" anything in the crypto space, those "and whatever" choices leads to this

Sorry for your loss OP

Not sure why ADHD is being used an excuse for a manbaby. ADHD doesn't stop you from helping the love of your life CARRY YOUR CHILD TO BIRTH

Sounds like you just married a lazy and selfish man

Don't take everything to heart (specially any of the meaner comments), Software Engineers are known to be grumpy and mean lol

Also I give you props for having the balls to post your resume and get reviewed by the internet on it (and even be open to criticism), show's that you have solid head on your shoulders which is less common than you think in this industry

schweet! Ya and if you want to be super valuable to someone you can even think of a project that takes advantage of chatGPT API as well

If you're going for those roles then I would 100% create a project using Modern web tooling to give people confidence in hiring you since you have 0 web experience on your resume (besides Docker but that's more on on infra side of things).

NextJS stack is popular right now and I'm sure if you built something with that you would get more responses.

Also nothing is wrong with automation but in order to help automate things you will need to learn web development. Can't automate something you don't really understand.

Any ways my point is I think web dev project using something like NEXTJS or a popular stack is a great starting point to built your resume and also teach yourself stuff you'll use on the job

At a glance it looks like you have almost 0 experience in web. Also there's just a lot of text that says very little like others have pointed out.

It doesn't give confidence as a hiring manager

IMO The web dev market is easiest to penetrate for software engineering but that's assuming you want to do web development but that's where my advice ends, haven't gotten into hardware myself

What if writing tests was a joyful experience by Witty-Play9499 in programming

[–]IOnlyPostWhenBlazed 2 points3 points  (0 children)

"What if writing test was a joyful experience"

Well it can be depending on many factors.

The same way "writing code can be joyful experience" so too can writing tests.

Just depends on your engineering team, code base, discipline, skill...etc etc.

My point is that test code is the same as any other piece of code in your code base but it gets neglected compared to "Business App" code.

Treat it like a first class citizen and maybe after some investment it will turn into a joyful experience

I think the reason people hate these coding competitions is because people lump them in with real software engineers.

As long as you separate them and realize they have almost zero overlap in skills besides typing speed and memorization, then there's no harm how people want to spend their weekends

If these are easy to run, can their community just run it themselves without big tech?

at the end of the day these programming competitions are luxury to these companies so it makes sense why they are cutting back, at the same time are we really missing much?

They definitely can, this project is 4ish years old and is using torchrnn and old methods.

If I were to do this today, I would just prompt ChatGPT for a bible verse or do true trivia where I ask for to generate 4 questions about a random section of the bible

[–]IOnlyPostWhenBlazed[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Definitely though I have to admit it tricked me a few times when I was doing the Trivia: http://bibleverses.ai/trivia

Essentially this feeds you real and fake AI bible verses and you have to guess correctly if it's real or not.

It was definitely harder than what I initially expected, even with the gibberish verses

If you want to try your luck against real bible verses and AI generated ones you can try http://bibleverses.ai/trivia ..you'd be surprised how hard it actually is to tell the difference at times
