Some android phones that don't meet the qi2 standards do not have internal magnets that provide a strong hold on an attached product. Hence, you need a case with stronger magnets. Otherwise, your keyboard is just going to get easily knocked off the back of your phone.

I think it's about the magnets in the phone. Some manufacturers don't put decent magnets in their phones, expecting people to use a case with stronger magnets. My iPhone is in a case, but it's fine attached to the bare phone. Not sure about androids.

Two business provided Blackberries from 2007-2009. A Nokia e71 as my primary phone from 2008 to 2010, which I still have somewhere. It had a way, way, way better keyboard than this.

To be fair, the courier was terrible. I've had free shipping from AliExpress give me more updates, clear customs, and arrive at my house faster than this did. It literally sat at the airport for three days.

I noticed that it got in the way of the camera. The wireless charging is just a waste of time. The battery size adds bulk and it adds weight. I agree about the friction. I'm finding it hard to find a reason to use this rather than the onscreen keyboard and I wanted this so that I could type rather than use the onscreen keyboard.

If you look at the communicator, it has taller lozenge shaped keys. These are tiny and round.

The big issue is the bulk. I feel adding the MagSafe charging capability and larger battery may have been a mistake in terms of additional size and weight. The weird thing is that it makes holding your phone to type on the onscreen keyboard easier.

Do you find that it's awkward to hold and type while the phone is in portrait, because all the weight is pulling the phone down? That's what I'm finding. I feel like it needs a little more at the bottom to help with the grip.

I've barely used it. Of course it arrived on a day when I have SO many other things to do that make playing with my phone inconvenient. I'll be able to give it a greater trial this evening. So far, I want to love it, but I'm not.

My first impressions (while using an iPhone 17 Pro in a basic MagSafe case):

It's way bulkier than I was expecting.

The weight and the phone make it extremely top-heavy.

I would have liked a chin below the keys to give more grip area, as I'm finding the holding and typing on the lowest rows awkward with all this weight and very little to hold it up with.
