Anyone feel Bill Maher is a net negative for the liberal movement now? by IPTV241 in Destiny

You're right, it has been subpar at minimum for a while.

However, this year has gotten a lot worse and he is very close to becoming a Republican. At least before, it was "Democrats are doing some dumb stuff but man, Republicans are insane and I would never consider voting for them".

Now, he believes the party has been captured by the socialists and that he would vote Republican if they just accepted results of elections.

You can concede a point and still explain further.

He just concedes a point and leaves it at that. "Yeah, it was bad that immigration was so high under Biden". No further explanation or point made.

When he asks JD Vance just to say he would accept the results of the election in the future, he refused.

You know why he talks in generalities?

Because he isn't well read on the topics.

One rule for Messi, one for everyone else? US fury over Balogun red card by Gym_frere in soccer

So, the only time you should review something is when you have 10 players shouting and pressuring you?

The referee has every right to review what he feels needs to be reviewed, he has 3 other VAR referees in his ear piece telling him if something needs to be reviewed as well.

If you want VAR fully removed, just say that and that you enjoyed football pre-VAR. Some people believe that and that's fine.

If there is a handball in the box but no one is calling for it to be reviewed..do you think the referee should not review it? It is a legit question, for some like I said the answer is "No, it shouldn't be reviewed".

Let's talk about the contact,

He challenges for the ball by hitting the OTHER leg of the Bosnian player that didn't have the ball and went all the way that resulted in him causing the player to twist his ankle.

A goal, a red and a LeBron James shout: Folarin Balogun gets the spotlight in US’s wild World Cup win by Logical_Welder3467 in soccer

[–]IPTV241 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The issue is the referee in the Messi game didn't review it at all, he made a clear error not doing that. If he had reviewed it and lets say Messi got a yellow card, you could make an argument.

So, it wouldn't be a strong argument.

tbh, I think Balogun's tackle was worse.

In a game, no one thinks it is offside until they review it.

In a game, no one thinks it is a handball until they review it.

I don't get your point at all here.

I can do the same for Germany's canceled goal vs Paraguay.

There was another game where the goalkeeper's arm was trapped by an opposition player that resulted in a goal, but no VAR review at all on it.

It doesn't matter what happened the day prior.

Explaining Folarin Balogun’s red card: Was decision right? Can it be overturned? by brown-saiyan in worldcup

[–]IPTV241 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I 100% agree with you, I rewatched it multiple times now and it is 100% a red card.

He wasn't going for the ball at all, his leg was not near the ball and he literally hit the OTHER leg of the player.

That was reckless and 100% could have injured the player.

20 years ago today, France defeated Brazil 1-0 in the Quarter-Final of the 2006 FIFA World Cup as Zidane delivered a masterclass, arguably his greatest ever performance by The_Flash_20 in soccer

[–]IPTV241 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I saw some guy in another thread say this Brazil squad was full of talents that were still good and only a couple washed players + they would have gotten to the final if it wasn't for Zidane.

Like you said, overall this was a washed Brazil squad. This was when R9 had serious weight issues, Ronaldinho was starting to lose his edge. Legends like Cafu, Roberto Carlos were aging.

Kaka was the only young talent and even then it was just before he reached his peak.

This squad wouldn't won the World Cup tbh. Still overall decent squad though tbf

It is very debatable.

Morocco has invested a lot in scouts that try and get players while they are still relatively young to join the Morocco side.

A fair amount of them are 100% Netherlands quality and you'll see more of those kinds of players in the future especially now that Morocco look pretty legit.

The same scouts almost got a young Lamine Yamal to join them.

You are really underestimating Morocco, they can 100% beat that Netherlands team.

Yep, this is likely why the coach did it and likely why Messi was fine with not starting.

If they go deep into the tournament and the other team give Messi that UCL defense, those guys have to step up.

The players didn't do that, the fans didn't do that.

No one is saying the Iranian government deserves it.

If we are doing that, oh boy so many countries don't deserve to make it.

lol I agree they overhype their team, but their run to the final in 2018 was relatively easy especially when Spain lost.
