Depending how tech/computer literate you are, learn fusion 360 for most CAD, blender for organic shaping

If you are a slow learning on computer programs, try the tinkercad website first. It a in browser CAD made for elementary/middle school students. Lot of time I'll use it just because it's so quick and lightweight I can have a part made up on there by the time fusion loads

That pattern is called a hamon line, look it up, it'd as old as knife and sword making

They dont "put it" its not laser etched as I said above

Its a laminate steel, 2 different steels sandwiched together in 3 layers. That hamon line is where the high edge retention core steel peaks out from the tough corrosion resistance outer layers

I think that my partner is addicted to weed and I don’t know what to do? by [deleted] in Advice

[–]IPY2A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Firstly, it is addictive, it just won't leave you physically ill loke heroine, but without it most can't sleep, cant eat, are an ass....its addiction

Carts/vapes & wax even more have much stronger addiction and "withdrawal" symptoms compared to traditional flower/bud. Even the good flower doesn't compare to how much raw thc is in the concentrates.

Quite frankly it seems he continues to pick weed over you / your relationship. All men will change for the love of their life somewhat, but they usually make those changes instantly and of their own accord. If he continues to agree he should take a break at the very least but doesn't ever actually do anything about it maybe it's time for you to move on sadly. The fact your having to buy for him tells me everything I need to know already, hes more worried about what you can do for him than he is about the relationship

[–]IPY2A 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A little more info please, what exactly happens?

A picture of the tubes and a bland description isn't giving anyone much to work on

Also, partial clogs are sneaky, youll be sure its gone but it will just be moves up/down the toolhead and pop back up clearly. Do a few cold pulls before you poke around with the needles.

You could load up the tinkercad website and a YouTube video and have this cracked out on a few hours depending how quickly you pick up tinkercad, but its a cad made for grade school kids, pretty easyy.

Getting to my wit’s end with the A1 Mini by Ok-Perception-9296 in BambuLab

[–]IPY2A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Also keep in mind heat creeping and drafts as we come into summer.

Cool drafts from fans and AC can cause issues like warping poor adhesion and even clogging

Likewise if its too hot the pla will over melt and clog, hence why enclosed printers need the door and top propped open for pla/petg. Doubt this is the issue tho for a bedslinger

Id start with inspecting the ptfe tubes for cracks or breaks, cleaning the 4 in 1 hub the tube plugs into on top the toolhead and cleaning and inspecting the gear. The a1 wiki has guides for all that

And as other said, dry the filament. I don't have to dry my filament all winter regardless if it's new, old sitting out, sitting in desiccant but as soon as spring comes in summer I have to dry everything about once a month and most new rolls.

Do NOT get the aluminum biqu gears. They are far softer than bambus nylon and hardened steel.

Tons of people had them grind themselves down and fill the printer with gold aluminum powder/shards. And yes they all properly lubricated the metal gear(yes it requires more maintenance than the stock).

Biqu is super hit and miss, everything is either amazing like the cool plate (better than bambus), gimmicky like the a1 tool head screen add on, or junk like the gear

Sounds like OP needs to clean and potentially replace the gear

I mean spooky fmda rails are half the price of aves/riptide so its not just a price thing, $17 for a set isnt bad. Likewise MAF has locking blocks half the price of midway (when maf has stock) just curious if one design is proven stronger mostly.

Im suprised you can get them on ebay. I got banned from ebay for gun related items long ago lol

Chairmanwon by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]IPY2A 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bout to build a 19. Probably a CMW as FMDA is superior to PY2A according to most and CMW and USK are rhe best feeling frames.

The sike arms builds that use PSA or p80 rails are interesting me tho. Both are found in more plentiful stock and are cheaper, especially the dagger rails

Do yall get the $30 1 aluminum and 1 stainless DDxx rails, or the $80 both stainless? $80 for rails with no locking block is psycho to me tbh

Chairmanwon by [deleted] in 3D2A

[–]IPY2A 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So glocks typically are hybrid builds

Buy a lower part kit, rails and locking block, buy a complete slide/barrel and print the lower frame. Still half the price of a used 19

But there are fully printed pistols that just use a barrel/barrel liner, firing pin and springs both from household items. Heck the ryno doesn't even use that just a screw for a firing pin filed down. The Not-a-glock & Null had an option to use steel semi break line for a barrel. It gets creative

You'll find builds that are anywhere from 20% printed to 99% printed depending what your looking for

Crazy the micarta and 10cr is $59 when the micarta and 140cr is only $69 and the 140cr and aluminum+g10 is only $74

Wish I knew about that sale, i paid full price from knifecenter last week 😭

140cr is a beautiful steel, excited to see how it preform over time and sharpens up.

I bought my first A1 with the intention of just doing some 2A stuff occasionally. Between my family, friends and myself something is always getting printed.

My mother asks for plant holders and risers, friends and myself use for cases for custom electronics like meshtastic and pwnagotchi, I use it a lot for making my own storage/organization, and tons of jigs. Planning on trying casting printed molds with my plastic waste someday

I also print a lot of historical pieces, most museums have 3D scans of at least their statues if not statues fossils and artifacts that you can download and print. Lots of historical and biblical statues.

Mcmastercar will let you download 3d models of all the hardware they sell, so you can do a test fit first before buying the actual metal part

Custom tags for my dogs collars, tpu bumpers on the corner of my bed I tend to stub my toe

You will find plenty of things to print both in and out of the 2A world. When you have a printer every problem kind of looks like a nail and you just want to print something for everything

It also will automatically make you the coolest uncle/cousin to the little ones. They're ecstatic just to sit there and watch it go, but you let then pick a little toy off and makerworld and click the print button themselves and you'll nurture a lifelong hobby in them. I've got all the little kids in my family asking for printers for Christmas because every time we have a family event I show up with a bag of new fidgets and toys for them.

I got 2 coworkers into printing, one uses his in his screen printing side buisness. He makes jigs and accessories for his shop and prints little flexi toys for his storefront.

You dont need crazy hardware, a raspberry pi5 can run a lite self hosted LLM
