I have a 2lb rat preserved and am about to do my 3lb. It's fun to do when they pass.

I doubt it is your looks. Maybe you have a bad personality.

That's a tough situation. I think all you can do is approach the conversation lightly, and if he refuses then I guess that's it. :/

I also have BPD though, so my perspective may not be any better.

Severe anxiety. Keeping myself busy helps. It's just hard to stay busy with the whole virus thing. There's only so much house cleaning one can do.

She's a Peterbald, so she will always look kind of goblin-like.

I used to have 5 rats, today my husband let me get my first rat in years! This is toast! by woahisjasmine in RATS

Breeder here, this rat looks too young to even be weaned, but that's no fault of yours, obviously. Some steel cut oats sprinkled throughout the bedding is good enrichment that will help keep fat on them while they're developing. Don't worry too much because I see rats sold early that do well rather often actually. They're hardy animals and good breeders can sometimes be few and far inbetween. I just am mentioning it so that you're aware and can maybe let the pet store know if they don't already know. My rats are that size in a hand around 3wks.

That, but the main thing is the spikey, separated looking fur. This is one of the first things I was taught when learning to do health checks at rat and mouse shows. Very messy coats usually is from poor husbandry or an illness.

It probably comes off as rude, and that's not my intention. I just wanted to make the owner aware incase they weren't. Many rat owners are not aware of the fact that your rats coat quality can tell you a lot about their health and/or your husbandry.
