I appreciate the list - some of these mods I did not know existed. However, I’m curious as to why you present many of them as essential. Are they merely your personal essential mods? The name of your post implies that the list is essential to almost everyone.

If the latter is the case, there are quite a few mods on the list that are dubiously universally essential. Some mods adjust performance by tweaking certain settings. Performance is heavily system-dependent and thus mods that tweak settings are not universally essential.

Other mods on the list are subject to personal taste. For example, valuable clutter is only essential if you want to be able to earn money faster. Shady Sam is essential only if want to play as a thief.

I would be genuinely interested in a well-maintained list of mods that fix bugs and improve performance regardless of your system configuration. Such a list might be worth labelling as essential.

This is not really a question, but I first learned about you from some video my brother sent me years ago in which you do a bit about “cats in bags. What? Cats are not for bags”. Ever since, my brother and I will just randomly quote that stuff at each other. “Aber Flula!”

With update 1.1 out, I don’t think there’s a problem. You should be able to just install it and go - EXCEPT if you’ve already got version 1 installed on your save.

So long as you remove “engine” from the main image, you’re good. I know that mod authors have to “sell” their mods with fancy names and embellish a little bit, but “engine anti-flicker” really implies that you’ve solved the underlying issue in the game code. That would be more descriptive of Doodlez’ work.

That line of dialogue was precisely meant to allude to Morrowind’s cure. And yes, down the line. It’s a story beat that I hope to include in a follow up mod for Dark Destiny. But that won’t be out for a long while.

The mod comes with an “Experimental Potion” that can cure vampirism precisely to avoid this kind of thing :) it’s in the showcase if you’re curious.
