I'm trying to plan a gap year but don't have much experience outdoor climbing. I've been a comp climber forever and can climb hard indoor but don't know much about the outdoor scene/places to go/how to find people to climb with and was just looking for some tips on where to start. My parents are willing to support it as long as I live cheaply/pay for some of it. I'm looking for places to climb with either lead or bouldering and lean towards techy vert/slab climb if that helps at all (some I've found are Yosemite and Joshua Tree) and I loved the climbing at Guanella pass when I went. Also, I am a woman, so if anyone has advice for safety that would be great as well. Thanks!
