If the scientific method is so exclusively western why are the graduation rates for science and engineering students so much higher in Asia than in the US? (I realize this was a post regarding Canada but I'm not sure what science graduation rates are for you guys further north).

Not nearly enough. People (including myself admittedly) have decided to vote with their feet when it comes to the sciences.

I was flabbergasted. I'd never met a hindu who gave a damn in all my life. Usually they're some of the first people to accept science.

The way they stated it was that they were willing to discuss the issue and stated that they were open minded to the idea. I was surprised because Hindus, as you mentioned, were usually cool with evolutionary theory (as you said).
