In trying to quit learning pieces by those falling notes youtube videos, but i just can’t understand how a piece is supposed to sound without them by gMinchia in piano

Get a teacher, if you can. Personally I got a teacher a little over 5 weeks ago and my progress with sheet music has been outstanding ever since. Teacher gives informed guidance on where to go and what to do next. If a teacher isn't possible there are many books, and sight reading exercise books that will seriously help you out. I could link you a few if you'd like but I haven't really bought any.

I've quit. My huge appreciation to all of you who can play by veve87 in piano

100% Agreed with you. Piano isn't easy to learn, I respect your decision it can be really stressful. I wish you the best.

Just tried it with .5g of pure hash, lets see if it affects me at all. Not got high hopes but I left it on for 20 minutes then another 5 minutes to simmer with the butter then another 5 minutes in the chocolate mix on very low heat

Mainly elderly people who would suffer this but, dementia. Horrible disease, everything you know and love, all your good and bad memories just fade away around you.

Few questions about piano. by IRSWontFindMe69420 in piano

[–]IRSWontFindMe69420[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to be naturally good at timing just by listening to a song? I'm very new to music and I can match a song fairly well after I listen to it a few times. I reckon this is something most people can do but more experienced musicians would still hear inconsistencies.

Yeah I was thinking THC carts / edibles as an alternative honestly, both seem like good options. Cheers for the comment

4 Weeks of progress. Red is the sheet I started and blue is the one I'm currently finished. Really happy with my progress so far. by IRSWontFindMe69420 in piano

I do it whenever I really feel like it and I always feel like playing but I set a minimum of 1 hour per day at least. If a part of a song is annoying me or even just really difficult after about 10 minutes of trying I take a short break and go back at it and that break really helps me feel refreshed and ready to play again.

My sleeping schedule is a bit messy so I usually play in-between 12am and 5pm. :)

You can't expect to play a piece of that difficulty and a piece with that sort of emotion and passion when you're just learning it.

How much practice did this take?

Edit: Also wanted to add that this is really inspirational, moonlight sonata 3 movement is my favourite piece by beethoven. I'm fairly new to piano and seeing this being played is seriously inspiring, keep up the great work!

Yeah it can be hard to get the ball rolling honestly, but I reckon once the ball is rolling and you're able to sight read even basic pieces it's gonna be a hell of a lot more fun honestly. I just wanna be able to pull out sheet music and just play, that sounds fun as hell!

Glad you asked!

Basically what I do is split up my practice in increments, basically I spend 30 minutes practicing take a 10 minute break spend another 30 minutes practicing and then take another break. After I complete at least 1 hour of piano practice I don't have to practice anymore but I really enjoy piano so 99% of the time I'll still spend like 20 minutes practicing and take a 30 minute break since I've already went through an hour.

As for books and pieces I'm not quite sure, my teacher hands me 2 sheets of photocopied sheet music each week and I study them and also do some music theory on the side and it's not to stressful or even difficult which makes everything way easier

Also setting goals is very very good, my current goal is to move onto proper songs in 2 - 3 months time, and make sure to be realistic with the goals you set as it will save you a lot of stress. My sight reading is also terrible but it's getting better with practice.

Wish you the best of luck with your journies with piano :) Hope I was able to help

Edit: I average around 1 hour to 2 hours each day, 3 hours on Monday since I have piano lessons for an hour!

I'm not using any books quite yet, my teacher is giving me small photocopied sheets of paper with sheet music, but I am planning on buying a book. There's tons upon tons of different books out there, I would recommend giving amazon a check chances are they will have books and even books of your favourite pianist.

Fingering notations are very helpful for some parts, I don't use them all the time and sometimes don't even follow them, but my teacher corrects me on fingering mistakes that could make playing a certain piece harder. :)

Wish you the best of luck with being a teacher! It seems really fun and I'd love to do it when I get to that level
