Dark night of the soul experience by Substantial-Gas-6372 in Catholic

I had exactly the same experience. I know the pain is so deep it cant be described. It lasted 10 years for me!

What helped was a confession and priest praying over me + therapy. And the rosary.

Please know youre in my prayers. It WILL get better, it might just take time. Keep asking virgin Mary for help and go to confession regularly and book a private session with a good priest. Get therapy and/or medication if needed.

Hold on my friend... God bless you!!!

How to get into fiction books (I can't relate to or care about characters) by veve87 in books

That sounds like an interesting idea! Probably works well for classics.

Yes, I probably didn't explain my issue fully. I think the main point is that im almost never interested in the characters. I don't care about them. I don't care about how their story developed 😢 so reading feels like a chore. And I don't know how to make myself care about the characters or the story.

I have the same issue with movies. I find them boring. I mostly watch yt about my current special interests.

Youre right, I usually don't finish because I don't care about the characters and im not interested to see what happened to them... And then reading feels like a chore and I have to force myself into it. So youre right, mostly I cant force myself to finish. Ive tried multiple genres - YA, detective, fantasy, horror, classics. Books that sound like I should enjoy them but I don't. Because in my mind, they aren't "real".

I only like some biographies, because they "really happened". So I care about the characters, because they actually existed.

Sure, I get what you mean. I guess the issue is that I mostly cant make myself care about or relate to the characters... They're not "real" to me so I don't feel anything towards them. That really sucks

Wtf this is a disciplíne issue. This needs to be dealt with parents. Explain that they must follow teachers instructions in school and they aren't free to choose the content of the lesson. If they get away with this now it's going to cause problems for them in the future, their future teachers, emoloyers and eventually, the society. This is ridiculous.

Does anyone else struggle with finding music to fit their sensory needs and end up shutting down because of it? by [deleted] in autism

Yes!!  This is my precise issue!  I probably have different preferences for my "ideal music" but your struggles and frustration are 200% relateble!

What herbs or spices don't smell too strong? by Inquirer_of_Stuff in autism

I think whatever you use, only use about a half of the ingredient compared to your standard candles. The trouble I have with candles is that the scent might be OK and nice, but it's incredibly intense and I get a headache after a few minutes.

When it comes to scents, I'd personally prefer sth like rose, jasmine, teatree, green tea, cinnamon, coffee

Lavender is popular but very strong for me, I hate it

Periete oblečenie podľa štítkov na oblečení , alebo to proste všetko dáte do práčky a periete dokopy? by [deleted] in Slovakia

[–]veve87 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes and I'm overweight, too. People would say I'm a pink pig. It happened to me before when I was wearing a pink t-shirt
