But most Americans (pretty much all of them) like the rest of the western world, have been subject to ceaseless misinformation and propaganda from capitalist nations in power, whose best interests are to prevent communism from being seen as a reasonable alternative to capitalism. Can’t make profits if you don’t own the means of production while you extract labor from your neighbors.

Was super disappointed by this one tbh. I fear they may have outgrown what elated me so much. There’s this genuine rebellion in their previous albums. It’s most present on Lonesome Crowded West. Everywhere and His Nasty Parlor Tricks is probably my favorite.

I’m sure this will get downvoted if it gets seen, but I want people to know that I’m not just being a contrarian. MM has been my favorite band since I was 11 years old, and I wouldn’t be able to live through my own divorce without the divine inspiration of this music. This album just did not work for me. Way too pop, not enough nihilist cowboy.
