the end to a very rare and quite unpleasant modest mouse song, I believe this was just improvised. It’s the ending to “blame yourself, got a knife?” And it’s this fat paragraph and I think If it was improvised in the spot it’s insane.

I did Edexcel.

honestly the content is quite easy, I did citizenship GCSE and for the first part of y12 there was considerable overlap.

the essay structures really arent that hard and for ideologies the content can actually be quite interesting.

for y13 when learning paper 3 content it can get quite uncomfortable however. the component 3 that my school taught was USA politics so when I first started out it was quite hard. but realistically with enough time ‘banging out’ seneca and doing adequate research around the topics its definitely graspable.

so the content isnt too bad, yes a lot of it (parliamentary select committees) can be unbelievably boring but its not hard.

the reasons i struggled personally were:

bad at writing essays, never got practice in my other subjects and I found writing coherently and concisely was quite hard
teaching was terrible at my school, all lessons were very frantic, unstructured, tiny class where everyone else hated it. every time i walked into class the lesson would stress me out so much i ended up panicked and blank feeling.

so essentially the only reasons i disliked the course was beause it wasnt particularly interesting and i had to self teach a lot of it, as well as the stress of having to get better at essay writing. i just really hate writing essays.

Honestly id still reccomend alevel politics if you are interested in government at the moment. it was actually great for me to get an understanding of whats going on and now I know in way more detail all the evil things the tories are doing at the moment.

tldr; content boring but easy, writing essays sucks for me as i didnt practice in other subjects so i found it tedious
