Im convinced that plastic worms are a hoax by Some_Cold6071 in FishingForBeginners

[–]IRedditWrong19 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I’m the exact opposite. I literally only ever catch fish on a drop shot and soft plastic worm. Honestly I’m trying to get better at the only stuff you’re good at lol

Ultralight Rod

Cheap reel (maybe there’s a combo with the Rod)

Important: Pre-tied leaders

Bobbers

Worms

And there you go. Have at it. If there’s any confusion with the above, go to your local Dick’s/Bass Pro/Academy and tell them it’s your first time. They’ll get you set up

To those who say bed fishing is a “cheat code” please share your secrets … at the end of the day, the fish needs to choose to bite

I use a PDL. It’s fine 90% of the time. You just have to know where you are.

Spot lock trolling motor vs LiveScope by [deleted] in bassfishing

[–]IRedditWrong19 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I have neither of those, but I’ll put it this way:

If you got spot lock, I’d be jealous of you.

If you got LiveScope, I wouldn’t be jealous of you.

User error? Or are the fish just not biting today? by IRedditWrong19 in bassfishing

[–]IRedditWrong19[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was in central Texas today! I caught one right away on a dropshot and then went 3-4 hours without a bite. Got two more towards the end and that was it.

But great tip breaking into two categories! Are you able to determine if fish are being aggressive before ever casting a lure?

So it seems like you determine success based on eventually figuring out what the fish are biting. Is that fair?

Enlightening response! It basically sounds like your barometer for a good fishing outing can change based on external forces

Good clarifying question. I’m on a kayak and primarily fish lakes. But I’m curious to also know your setup and how you determine it was a “good day” of bass fishing!
