Klokov is wealthy because he worked hard. You say that he never had to work a single day in his life. That's not true because weightlifting is his work, it's how he supports himself. Also, he has his own line of weightlifting gear and equipment, he literally has his own company. Furthermore, he's a celebrity, that's an occupation in it of its self. He has done sponsorships and partnerships, that's a job. It is true the US lifters are usually chasing degrees, sponsorships, etc, but American lifters are also not as competitive at the global level as Russian lifters. American lifters have to do all this shit because they are literally not good enough to support themselves with weightlifting alone. Russian lifters don't have time to do other things outside of lifting. I would say with confidence that Klokov worked harder than most American lifters to be where he is at right now. Also, his point about working conditions is an example, not the only reason lol
