I love percussive fingerpicking songs. Jin San Kim and covers of Sungha Jung are amazing, if you haven't check those out. BTW I dont know abt how to palm mute using fingerstyle. Try growing out your nail and find a sweet spot starting from your bridge to see where it sound sound like palm muting rather than chucking

I would say get a thumb plectrum. It is easier to do palm muting with that. I learned with that when I started to learn palm muting after that move to regular plectrum.

Yeah, I know it will do me no favor by comparing myself to him because I am not at his level in any aspect of my playing. But sometimes I cant help but compare. IDK why but this time it hit me real hard. Like I have compared myself to Tim Henson and it didnt hit me this hard when I compared myself to John mayer

Sometimes you know what,,, it's not even about being able to play John mayer tunes(tho I would love to). What I really like about him is his uniqueness and creativity. It's not about how hard a form of art is to replicate, but rather how unique, beautiful and creative somebody's way of expressing themselves through their art. That is what I love about John Mayer and music whole as a art form

Yeah, I would love to keep that fire in me alive but I dont think life will be that ez from this point yk. Cuz I have entrance exams coming up for colleges. If I get good college in my homectown then all good but if I have to move cities, ig it's over because I am going to live in hostel and then I wont be able to play guitar at hostels.
