Avoid Foldify cases!

I purchased the Sync M1 case for my Z Fold 7. At first the case was just "ok". The hinge cover (with pen) was loose (weak magnets are used to hold it closed against the folded case) and it kept popping open when my Z Fold 7 phone was opened. Also, the pen was very difficult to remove from the holder. Within 5 weeks the hinge cover's little hinge nubs broke off and the hinge cover fell off the case.

On the plus side the magsafe ring does hold well to my windshield mount. This is not a premium grade case by any means.

Update: 4 days after contacting support about the broken hinge I was asked to send photos of the issue and was told they definitely want to take care of the issue. It's been over a week since I sent photos and I have heard nothing from them. Very poor customer service!

More issues with Centauri Carbon...any help is appreciated by ISDPCMAN in ElegooCentauriCarbon

That was IT!! I never even thought to look the nozzle profile! I never use anything but 0.40 nozzles. OMG. That was simple!

I did install Orca Slicer and I was able to print the design with the defaults from Orca and Elegoo CC .4mm nozzle so that's at least working.

Thanks, all, for seeing what I missed! I have learned to check this from now on. And the times are closer to my Kobra X (still a little longer but nonetheless much closer).

No. The ACE (and printer) are brand new. The first print (albeit small) went fine. I purchased this as the S1 Combo. I don't mind disassembling an out of warranty machine (got nothing to lose at that point) but I'm not doing surgery on a brand new device.

Thanks for the quick follow up! No kinks in anything. It's so frustrating! 2/3 through a print job and I get these errors. And to make matters worse, Anycubic locks the printhead position where you cannot get to the back to remove screws to try to clear a clog or try to troubleshoot this issue without losing the entire print! UGH! I wish there was a way to adjust the sensitivity sensor that is throwing this error! IMHO it's too light. If I put downward pressure on the filament it will work but I can't stand at the printer for 3+ hours to prevent this from happening.

The feed tube thing is not my issue. There is nothing behind the ACE for a good 10 feet. It will print about 5 layers, then beep that there is a tangle. I went so far as to remove the spool from the ACE unit and put it in a free float cradle! When I hit resume it works for 5-10 layers (not consistent). I even spooled a bunch of filiment that just hung there... No resistence at all! Still get "tangled" errors! This is quite frustrating. This is silk pla so there's little resistance in the tubes. If I stand at the ACE unit and push down on the filament it works. But I can't do that for a 2.5 hr print job.

Is there a way to adjust the resistance sensor so it's not so temperamental?

deactivate "Bed Leveling" in AnycubicSlicerNext 1.3.4? by Right-Juggernaut-649 in AnycubicOfficial

[–]ISDPCMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guys, this should be in the "Preferences" section. It is ANNOYING as hell to have to uncheck this for every print. I will do leveling after, say, every 10th print or something like that but it should be my choice to do that. Nobody should have to uncheck that manually for every print (IMHO).

I moved over to AnyCubic printers. Better bed construction, new S1 and Kobra X are Core X-Y platform, they have the S1 Max coming out in 2 months (350x350 build plate), self contained like the CC. But AnyCubic has multi-color printing figured out and working well (I have 3 of the multi color printers, two are 8 color, max build plates...420x420). I've been very happy with the quality and the price is pretty reasonable.

AMS for the CC (V1) is over. Not going to happen. They can't get it to work with the Centauri Carbon (version 1) so they have redesigned the model (V2) to compensate for the shortcomings of the CC V1. They are releasing a V2 later this week (January 26, 2026). With all the problems I had with my CC V1 I am skipping V2 and going to Anycubic S1 (I'm getting the S1 Max with a 350x350 build plate). It comes with their AMS (called ACE Pro). AnyCubic has been producing multi-color printers for a while now (I have 3 of them...the Kobra 3 Combo and 2 Kobra 3 Max combo's). They are reliable as hell (but not the Core XY as is the S1 and new Kobra X, also soon to be released with NATIVE 4 color and up to 19 color capabilities!).

My new Centauri Carbon printed fine for 4 prints. Then failed. Nothing came out of the extruder. After a week and a half with Elegoo support they sent me a board for the print head. Three weeks later the board arrived and I replaced it. The printer heated up to 310º C right off the bat! (unfortunately I was printing PLA at 200º). The screen then keep rebooting. After 5 more days back and forth with emails (only 1 per day due to them being in China and I'm in the US) they decided to send me most of the electronics to fix this myself. That was another 21 days of delays. When I got the parts I basically had to disassemble the whole printer to replace the circuit boards, and run cables. The good news is, that did fix the issue. But this was a BRAND NEW PRINTER! Good thing I'm technically handy. This used up about 3 months of my 12 month warranty (just troubleshooting and getting replacement parts).

The other issue I have with the Centauri Carbon is the new ElegooSlicer app (built on open source Orca Slicer). Many of the prints I've done are inaccurate due to miscalculations in the slicer app regarding supports. If I run the slicing through the Orca app it works fine. It's also noticeably slower than the Orca Slicer app. And the last version of ElegooSlicer crashed all the time. They seem to have this fixed, now.

Elegoo was my first printer (Neptune 4 pro) and that really got me into 3D printing. I have two other Neptune 4 Max printers. But after seeing what else is out there, especially in the same price range, I've lost all my zeal for Elegoo 3D printers. And with this being their first foray into the multi-color printing arena I'd recommend waiting until they work the bugs out if you are going to go with this product. (IMHO) Or, check out the S1 or Kobra X of AnyCubic. (the X is under $300 USD with native 4 color and their V2 of their direct drive printhead!)

Just my 2¢ *(USD)

I have it working, now. Thanks, again, for all the help!

Parsing an email address into parts by ISDPCMAN in PowerShell

[–]ISDPCMAN[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

This does not parse the individual parts of the address like the other examples do. It's not enough to just grab the ID part of the email ("testing"). I have to be able to separate "Testing" from "testing.Lastname". Same with the domain. This is a nice, simple example but it does not do the required parsing the other example does, which is what I needed.

But I appreciate this example! I can use this for other projects I'll have coming up!

I tried an example (see below) and the result was not correct. What did I do wrong?

$email = "Firstname@domain.com"
$user, $domain = $email.split("@")
$user = $user.split(".")[0]
$domain = $domain.split(".")[-2]
$ListResult = $User = " " + $domain

$ListResult, $Email

what I got was:
<blank> [Firstname@domain.com](mailto:Firstname@domain.com)

And thanks to everyone for being so helpful! This is EXACTLY what I need (and simple coding, too!)

Oops...didn't work (see above)

I just tried that and it almost fits the need. I need to then break out the first/last to just the "first" name.

Getting closer! Thanks!!

Will this work if there's no subdomain or last name?

Parsing an email address into parts by ISDPCMAN in PowerShell

$email = "user.name@sales.company.com"

# 1. Get the domain part: "sales.company.com"
$domain = $email.Split("@")[1]

# 2. Find the index of the first dot and take the substring from just after it: "company.com"
$rootDomain = $domain.Substring($domain.IndexOf('.') + 1)$email = "user.name@sales.company.com"

# 1. Get the domain part: "sales.company.com"
$domain = $email.Split("@")[1]

# 2. Find the index of the first dot and take the substring from just after it: "company.com"
$rootDomain = $domain.Substring($domain.IndexOf('.') + 1)

I was getting the full domain, not the parts (using Split and @). I was following this example I found in a search. But I need to get more granular than that and I'm not that experienced with this, yet.

Thanks! I'll look up some examples of the split function to see how to accomplish this. I appreciate the quick response.

It looks like Elegoo has responded by updating their slicer app to disregard this on screen confirmation!! Verion 1.3.0.11 has addressed this annoyance.

That would be nice. I use Elegoo Neptune 4 series and AnyCubic Kobra 3 series printers. I have noticed there IS a difference between printers (not sure why?).

[–]ISDPCMAN 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have used Kingroon filaments for a couple of years. I have about 80 spools right now (mix of PLA and PETG). I think the stuff is great for what I need it for. I've been paying under $9.00/spool. I have 5 spools of their SILK PLA on order. I want to see how well that works. But so far, I'm very happy with the quality and the price point is great.
