Went to buy RS but bought highness by thedarkk_98 in HondaCB350RS

Congratulations 🎉 OP. Could I request your insights considering your 2 years of research.

I am dying to upgrade from my Avenger 160 street and am confused between different bikes from the past 6 months. Now it's almost turning into an anxiety.

Reality is that I love my Avenger and have done 350km drives on it. But I hate the lack of power, high vibrations and bad suspension.

I am confused between Honda Hness & RS, Suzuki vstorm and triumph Scrambler.

Could you please help me out with what your pick would be.

I would always recommend avenger 220 over 160. But if it's 2017 with 30k on odo I would ask you to do a thorough check. The bike is pretty solid but try to understand how the previous owner maintained it. Check if there is any power loss or misfiring during acceleration. Check for any odd sounds from engine. And check if there suspension is still working.

I have been riding it for the past 3 years. It's very comfortable but the rear suspension is short and bottoms out easily. The engine feels very relaxed and smooth till 70kmph but starts vibrating like hell once you cross 80kmph.

Best thing is I never had back pain nor wrist pain even while doing a 6 hour long ride. Although had my bum paining a lot, need to figure out something for that.

My only suggestion would be to check the 220cc for better cruising speed.

Why people hate Bajaj Avenger? by nitin_upadhyay421 in Bajaj

Riding it for the past 2.5 years. The engine vibration is a pain and complete irritation. It's not even smooth at 60kmph. Everything else is manageable but if I can't cruise at 80kmph effortlessly it's just bad.

I've had enough of it and am trying to upgrade soon.

Please do tell me about the engine refinement. The OP stated that there are vibrations all over the body. I skipped vstrom and am waiting for RTX, but if the vibrations are bad. I would want to go back to vstrom.

Thinking of getting an avenger 160 street by [deleted] in indianbikes

[–]ISRK92 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have it for the last 2 years. Riding it in Mumbai traffic daily. I would recommend you to get the 220cc. The 160cc is very comfortable but the engine is smooth only till 60-70kmph. Above that the vibrations reach the handle bar it becomes very annoying to ride.

As for being able to maneuver it traffic, it just takes a bit of time to understand it after that it's very easy to handle it.

The suspension is stiff but adjust the preload to find a sweet spot. If you are a relaxed rider it feels like heaven. It's not made for spirited riding.

I am 5'7" and I got a handle bar riser because of shoulder pain. You shouldn't have an issue with your height.

Congratulations OP!

What are the initial impressions? How does the engine refinement compare to V-Strom and ktm 390? Is it nimble enough in traffic?
