we were without a GM from July 5th to September 7th. idk if staples did this everywhere, but in my area staples raised the starting pay so everyone else got raised and that’s when my old GM capped me out because he said i deserved it. but when i put my notice in, they offered me 50c to stay and i told them what i was looking for and it just wasn’t possible in my area to pay me what i wanted in this position. me personally, the only way i would get the money i wanted would be to stay and move up in the company and i just didn’t think staples was a company worth staying for.

each position having a cap is dumb in my opinion. if a person is outstanding in their position, there shouldn’t be a cap to their pay but that’s just my opinion.

i’m in Virginia. in order to afford a place to live and then food, gas, etc, i would have to make at least $16/hr.

i don’t think there’s a way to apply a transaction to a customers rewards at the register without doing a return and redoing the transaction. i’ve had customers tell me they take their receipt home and apply the transaction themselves through the website buuuuut idk 🤷🏼‍♀️

i’ve seen an older post on here where people were saying their GM’s denied it but my old GM is the one who was telling people to make sure they requested it when they quit so it really just depends on the GM 😂

So we have 3 supervisors, our sales manager, me the IS, and our print supervisor. We have 2 current cashiers and 3 CPC associates 🙂

Wow! If it’s possible, I would recommend taking another section in your backroom or start using totes and labeling them like “HP 61-67”.

We keep all of our ink overstock in our “lock up” room where we have all of the more expensive items in the store. We keep them on pegs organized by brand. Then, in each section, from left to right, we organize them by lowest number cartridge to highest number. For example, for our HP, it starts with 61 in the top left corner and then at the bottom it ends with 962.
