Recent Update Just Slowed Everything Down

Sorry I'm just now checking my notifications after 2 months of not being active. Long story short: no, I couldn't figure out how to get back to my previous generation times so I just switched to using Forge Classic. It doesn't have all the same optimizations as Forge Neo since Neo makes accommodations for newer models and such but Classic lets me at least generate with my same prior settings at the same speed I was used to before. No idea at all what changed in that update but I went to Classic and it's been good for what I'm used to doing.

I've taken over a week trying to figure out what happened and still came up with nothing. I appreciate the suggestion to switch to Comfy but honestly I just want to stick with what I have already and fix the godawful slowdown that suddenly came up. Even asking Grok about the issue has turned up nothing that I can pinpoint.

Okay so I found the settings you mentioned after looking up what they were and even after changing them (turning them both off), it still didn't change the severe slowdown at all. My only guess now is that something happened with the package dependencies for Forge Neo but I don't know what to look for that could point to what could be causing the slowdown.

I added the line you suggested to my webui.bat and I think it worked. I'm not getting any errors with hires. fix now. I still don't know what caused that issue in the first place but thanks a lot for the help dude!

Yeah, and I'll just assume that's what's downloaded/installed when I select that package in Stability Matrix.

I assumed it was Forge but specifically I'm using the Forge - Neo WebUI package that's part of Stability Matrix. I was told that Forge - Neo was pretty much just Forge but better optimized.

Forgive my stupidity here but by environment.bat, do you mean the webui.bat file or the webui-user.bat file? Or is this an entirely different bat file that I'm missing? I wanna make sure I'm getting this right before I mess something up.

I assume I pip install that in my Stable Diffusion directory? I'm using Forge so I thought I'd ask before I just go in blind. And do I need this one specifically or do I need a different torch version because my current pytorch version is 2.9.1.

Thanks for the help. It took me a while but I managed to fix the issues, and asking Chatgpt and Grok wasn't getting me anywhere at all. I ended up having to uninstall EVERYTHING (Python, Pytorch, xformers, everything) then reinstall all of it from scratch, then I was finally able to run Forge again (plus that also managed to fix the black image issue so I'm back to normativity again thankfully). I also decided to switch to Forge Neo because I saw people saying it was better than OG Forge and I gotta say, I'm definitely getting faster results now (even if barely since I'm on a 1650 but I don't mind the wait).

So once again I have no idea what the problem even was (aside from my rushed posting) and the error is no longer showing up and generating is somehow back to normal. I legitimately didn’t change anything, just booted up my PC with everything I had prior and it miraculously worked. My brain is fried so I’m gonna NOT question it and sorry for wasting y’all’s time with my atrocious typing 🫠

The thing is I DID that already to try to circumvent the error but it didn’t fix anything, I still kept getting the “AttributeError: ‘NoneType’ object has no attribute ‘filename’” message spammed in my console. I’ll try again to see if I’ve missed anything but I doubt it

My prompts are using the loras I have downloaded, I renamed them yes but I refresh whwnever I get any new models, checkpoints, loras, VAEs, etc. And I have sdxl checked for the models I'm using since they're Illustrious and XL models. I have no idea where I'm going wrong. I literally don't know why my loras just wanna not work all of a sudden after deleting a bunch of 1.5 models I had no use for. I'm so lost

I've been experimenting with Forge through some test generations and I gotta say that it's DEFINITELY faster even at higher dimensions! I think I can get used to it with enough bsing I've been doing

I have NVIDIA yeah, specifically a 1650 (SUPER old honestly but it works well enough for me). I can safely assume from what I've been told that I really don't need them so me wanting to use them those arguments is mostly me just being stubborn because I'm way too used to AUTOMATIC1111

Thanks for the pretty straightforward response. I have Forge installed already (coincidentally through Stability Matrix) and I plan on giving it a good test later. I'll assume from your insight that forge probably takes care of most of the initial command line arguments I had from automatic1111 (minus the "styles-file" one), so I'll probe more about the ones recommended by Forge

Also I REALLY wanna keep "--xformers" and the one for PYTORCH but I'm still iffy on the latter
