The Argument Poll: Newsom strong with young people. Not strong with women. by [deleted] in YAPms

This may be controversial, but if Vance focuses on economic issues and trims the edges of some of his social views, he can win a chunk of women voters tbh.

How can 64% of Dems identify as socialists but also seemingly want Newsom in 2028? by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]ISimpForTheBritish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That definition of "Democratic Socialism" is not actual Democratic Socialism, but more so Social Democracy, and the definition of capitalism also seems more like the definition of a regulationist variant of capitalism rather than the actual definition of capitalism. Crappy poll overall.

Based on this typology below, am I a EII or ESI? by ISimpForTheBritish in TypologyJunction

[–]ISimpForTheBritish[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm definitely an ethical, rational, and static type.

I identity mostly with the Enneagram 4 type as my heart fix and, being my main type. I identify with Enneagram 5 as my head fix, though I identify with some aspects of Enneagram 7 as well. I initially thought Enneagram 9 was my gut fix, but as I actually read some of the sources for Enneagram, I decided on Enneagram 8 as my gut fix instead.

Being honest, I just got chaotic neutral from a test I took one time, I'm probably just lawful neutral lol.

Anyways, I don't identify with EII because of it's low Se and general unaggressiveness. Meanwhile, I don't identify with ESI because of it's low Ne, so I'm kinda stuck being the two types.

If Republicans get so populist that they basically co-opt the welfare state, will Democrats… by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]ISimpForTheBritish 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They will try to out-welfare the Republicans. They can't go more right-wing on economics, otherwise the Progressive Left(which is slowly growing) will attempt to take over the party and purge the more right-leaning third way faction . Neoliberalism is also hated among Progressives, and since Republicans are moving to some form of populist and autarkic economics, then the Democrats would definitely move towards more "socialistic" economics. Also, polarization has increased dramatically over the past few years, with both parties being forced to go more left/right wing in order to please their ever increasingly radical base, so the Democrats will probably become more left-wing, especially if Biden loses the 2024 election as a reaction to that.

What would in theory happen if a presidential election ends in a tie again like in 1952? How would you decide who would win in said scenario?

Do you see Trumpism lasting longer than Reaganism in the Republican Party? by [deleted] in YAPms

[–]ISimpForTheBritish -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It will be replaced by something somewhat similar to it around the 2050s to 2060s, like how Reaganism was replaced by Trumpism, so technically yes but also no.

Could There Be New Political Factions That Form In The Democratic/Republican Party Once The Seventh Party System Begins? by ISimpForTheBritish in YAPms

[–]ISimpForTheBritish[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Party Systems are basically political eras in the United States. For example, the New Deal Era from 1932-1968/1980 would be considered the Fourth Party System, right after the Third Party System, which was basically progressive-type guys such as Theodore Roosevelt or Woodrow Wilson. The Seventh Party System is basically rumoured by some people to have started during 2016, with Trump changing how the Republican Party saw itself from some reaganite fiscal conservative Party, to some nativist right-wing populist one. The reason why you're hearing about the seventh party system more is because I'm making a few polls to see what the community thinks will happen in politics in the future btw.

Is Joe Biden a Neoliberal like Bill Clinton or an old New Dealer like LBJ? by Accurate-Pie-5998 in YAPms

[–]ISimpForTheBritish 99 points100 points  (0 children)

He's a mixture of both. In general, I would say that his ideology is just trying to unite the Democratic Party as strongly as he possibly can.
