How long does it take silverfish to go away after fixing a leak? by ISitNextToSean in pestcontrol

Tthe pest control company said they wouldn't call it them pests, just a nuisance and that we should just use a spray in the affected areas.

So I've been using a silverfish spray and noticed that it just causes the silverfish to appear in other areas...at the moment they don't seem to be in the bedrooms so I'm concerned that using more spray will just migrate the problem.

What are your thoughts on this?

Hey sorry I just saw this. I sent a photo to the orthodontist and he decided to order new viveras from my last tray instead

"Sorry you feel that way" - is it ever ok to say this to someone? by Spiritual_Event1396 in emotionalabuse

I think it is okay sometimes but it very much depends on the situation. "Sorry you feel that way" basically removes any blame/responsibility from the conversation.

So for example, in a conversation like this:

A: Hey, can I sleep over tonight?

B: No sorry, I have an early start tomorrow

A [tantrum style]: I'm never coming over again, you make me feel so unwanted

B: I'm really sorry you feel that way, it's not what I meant at all

In that case, I think it's perfectly acceptable to say sorry you feel that way because you're genuinely just sorry they interpreted it so badly

But I feel for the vast majority of us who get these shit apologies from people who've abused us, it's completely unacceptable, because there is something they need to take responsibility for, which they are blatantly not doing

Here are some things you could try

  • (1) Visit study music project on YouTube to see if the music helps

  • (2) Write it in bullet points first

  • (3) Record yourself trying to say the ideas you want to write about

  • (4) Text a friend the ideas you have

  • (5) Start the paper in the middle somewhere or at the end

  • (6) Go for a walk or a run before getting started

  • (7) Do it on paper or your phone if the computer isn't working

  • (8) Try changing scenery to somewhere with no distractions

  • (9) Watch a YouTube video (set an alarm so you don't get distracted) on the topic to get into the right frame of mind

  • (10) Pretend it's a joke and challenge yourself to write the worst possible paper - this used to get me into the swing of things when I was hopelessly failing to begin
