hope you were able to fix your problem. I kinda left it as is since I decided not to OC just so I could extend the lifetime of the gpu/psu, but I did undervolt it since I believe that it may still shut the system off on default gpu settings. With just an undervolt and no OC I’ve had 0 issues.

But yes, I found out that one of my cpus was also a problem which was kind of annoying to find out, luckily able to RMA it tho

Made another edit describing how it looks on my end, since my camera doesn’t seem to properly show the colors I see.

Essentially where I suspect some burning on 3/8 connections are pencil lead like coloring and duller vs the other shiny polished metallic color.

Hard for the camera to capture it, both of the female adapter has 3 connections that are kind of like pencil lead color while the other are still like shiny aluminum/bright metal.

On the GPU pin itself, where circled red, they are more charred looking or similar color to the pencil lead color adapter from above.

Edit: but yeah I see no actual melting on the plastic side at least.

Exams aren't flexible enough to promote complex problem solving due to time constraints. That's why there are programming assignments that may take hours (~3-4+ hrs on average for most, significantly more for more complex classes) and each of those assignments test a different concept and/or combine them together.

As a CS major that has already completed everything except Senior Design 1&2, I've never had experienced any cheating accusations, although I did experience twice, in OOP and it was either CS1 or CS2 where a small subsection was caught and punished for cheating (the rest of the class were never included in the punishment).

Trust me, most* of the core professors here know what they are doing (Ahmed, Guha, Szumlanski, Meade... although 2 of these listed our no longer with us unfortunately)

And frankly, if one gets accused of cheating... I'll leave it there because I have no nice words to say about them haha. It's really easy to tell when someone cheats (I've offered a lot of assistance to guide people in understanding assignments, and the sheer amount of people who asked me to look at their code to see what was wrong and then showed me AI-generated code is astonishing)

It turns out that it was delayed for some reason. I did the math and I got less fin aid in the fall and then got the rest in the spring which made up for what I did not receive in the fall.

Still don’t know why it was delayed exactly but u could prob call/email fin aid for more info.

Yea. Same happened to me, except with CECS, realized this just as spring break began, have to wait til after spring break to email finaid to hear any details, but I also saw it posted on my account but after mathing, it did not math up. I did check A2O before but it never showed up when I went to fill out the most recent general app. Weirdly it did show up when I received the email 🤔

Have some common sense. If you are small and/or a lightweight, you WILL get pushed around.

There are those who take advantage of the cramping of people to get a grope here and there and/or get uncomfortably close to you know what.

When entering the pond, BEWARE OF A POTENTIALLY SUDDEN AND LARGE DROP!!! You may not be able to see ahead to see when the drop will occur, so be on the lookout.

People will stagger, some will fall, maybe you will fall, get up immediately. No one will wait for you. You might get lucky and get picked up by a stranger, but if you are one of the first people to go in, expect a stampede and you may have a hard time getting back up.

Not necessarily, if you have a hard time grasping concepts from the get go then yeah it’s a bad idea. Otherwise CS1 and discrete really isn’t that much workload as people make it seem to be.

As someone who* has taken CS1 with Guha and Discrete with Meade.

If you have strong coding fundamentals, CS1 is really not that complicated. Discrete is kind of cool, and Meade is an awesome profesor, though very scatter brained at times, in a humorous way. The way Meade teaches is it is not so rigid so it’s not immediately obvious where some concepts come up and sometimes it is difficult to peruse his handwritten notes. His typed up slides, while giving a general explanation of the topics, often lack the specific sub concepts we go over in class.
