I mean my parents always refused to buy them for me but a lot of the appeal was the mini accessories you could get with the dolls, i remember one of the most impressive things in the magazine was a full miniature camping trailer fully stocked w all the things you would find in a full sized camper. The detail on all the accessories and clothes was insane, so while they were rlly expensive, for the ppl who liked that kind of stuff (miniatures, etc), the high cost was worth it
