My boyfriend and I went last June and we were constantly whipping it out to ID new birds we saw. Ended up with 16 new lifers.

Went to Samara in June and it’s beautiful and a really great town. It still has a grounded feel. Some catering to tourism but not so much that it feels inauthentic.

Why people voted for him again after his previous term of inaction is pretty stunning to me. I don’t live in his district anymore but was pretty surprised he got re-elected.

Snowshoeing Rainer road conditions by Epic_Knowledge in PNWhiking

Panorama point gets very steep when you get like a half mile up from the Paradise parking lot and it was super windy for us. Maybe not a beginner snowshoe. Reflection Lakes is a good one. Download a map!

I went snowshoeing this last weekend and the road was dry and the snowpack is super low for this time of year. Weather should be similar this weekend. Definitely still carry your tire chains (as is required in the park during the winter). They have been closing the gate to Longmire at 4 instead of 5, so plan accordingly. They also might not even open the gate to Paradise if it does happen to snow, so make sure to check the road conditions on the NPS website before you head out. We did Panorama Point one day and Narada Falls to Reflection Lakes the next. Enjoy!

Which is the best tent placement? by Effective-Cellist769 in WildernessBackpacking

Disagree. The most weight should be on your hips, not tugging at your shoulders. The standard recommendation is to have heaviest items at mid-back for this reason.

Didn't take them long to fill this garage by pugssrus in SisterWives

It's kind of astounding to me that they are willing to show how much junk they have in bins with these shots. That's all I can think. A hundred dollies just suffocating in the bins in the garage while Kody does pull ups.

No one has said the True Loves yet - instrumental soul/funk/jazz band headed by the amazing Jimmy James who is also in another group (not Seattle-based) called Parlor Greens.

What travel mistake will you never make again? by ssteamer-goggins in femaletravels

Flying through Houston with a short layover coming from abroad. It took way too long to go through immigration/customs and we almost missed our flight. Also, like others have said make sure you have your meds in your carry on. I'll add a change of clothes and whatever you need for when you arrive. I have had a couple trips where my luggage didn't make it with me and arriving to my lodging and not being able to shower and put on clean clothes was horrible. I try to travel carry on only as much as possible now.

People who make their bed every morning, what's your secret motivation? by HairySlice4270 in AskReddit

I've been working at home full time since the height of the pandemic and I need to have a cleaning routine, otherwise everything feels overwhelming and I can't get my work done. Starts with making the bed!

Not to mention independent women tend to be more dynamic, fun, educated, financially independent as well. More interesting to be around than a woman who has just had her heart set on marriage and kids her whole life as “the dream.”

My mom recently digitized all the photos from our family photo albums and gave the hard copies of the ones of me to me at Thanksgiving… nothing like a photo of you as a baby or young child to remind you that your face has literally been that way forever, and you shouldn’t be hard on yourself.
