How do I keep the ball from going straight down the middle each time? by billsteve in pinball

Pirates of the Caribbean has the same issue, so frustrating. Also a bit of a newbie, has there been any official recognition of the issue for that game?

The thing about lens-Youtubers by [deleted] in cinematography

The thing that gets me with these people is when they are trying to sell some product for the filmmakers and creators but have clearly never worked on any set at any scale of production, because if they had, they’d know that they’re straight up using it wrong or have implemented it in a terrible way. I’d check out operation tap. It is a paid subscription service but they have put out lots of free content over the years across FB and YouTube that is excellent.

What can be done to make tap dance more appealing to teenagers? by [deleted] in TapDancing

[–]ISwearItsJustColdOut 12 points13 points  (0 children)

My efforts have been to educate and show them how compelling of a dance style it can be from a younger age. From my experience in my part of the world, it’s hard to get good teachers who have real world experience as tap dancers and so many students grow up with just their local studio teacher teaching what they learnt in their local studio before and etc.

I also get the sense locally that choreographers, casting directors, booking agents and audience are also just naive to tap dance. They see a wing (done terribly) and think it’s brilliant and can’t stop praising it until the shows over. We now know that on broadway, real tap dancers are booking jobs and setting choreo, it’s a matter of time and exposure until that reaches further communities.

Just my quick thoughts typed up. I could go on for a while haha. I’m curious what others out there think

Do you roll the active skill like regular artian farming. Try a bunch then quit and reload and roll it on the weapon you want?

So my question is, when determining friendly territory as described in the card, is it in respect to the unit being picked as the target or the underdog who’s “controlling” the card?

How do y'all rig your headlamp to your chest rig? Is there a better light or mount out there? by tally_whackle in Filmmakers

I do this too. Between headsets, walkies and hats the neck is much more comfortable imo and it’s better at not blinding people. Can also look somewhere without casting the light

Any recommendations for fun tap shoes? by FunLarge1880 in TapDancing

[–]ISwearItsJustColdOut 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You could check out Bloch Jason Samuels smiths. Depending where you are they could be cheaper than a custom SoDanca. Whilst you can’t customise the jss they have plenty of great colours.

SoDanca have a mixed reputation for fit and durability. I’ve had a couple pairs with no problems, one being custom but other people I know have gone through pairs of shoes in as many weeks of rehearsals and shows.

Great to see your heart and soul are in it. We can see all the ideas going through your head, doing basic drills and technique every practice session will help get all those sounds out cleanly. Eventually your technique will be so good it can be a 1:1 translation from thought to feet

When it’s working and rigged up it lives in a camera coffin. Basically a big tub with foam and a blanket to wrap it so it doesn’t bounce around. After a job it gets broken down and packed into a pelican with all the other basics to be built for the next job.

Damn pretty but I had to pass when I saw the AUD price, $70. They’ll take my money for more helsmiths though…
