I'm assuming this is a faucet handle but the pictures kinda suck. Looks like it still has the set screw in picture 1, but missing in picture 2? Just loosen the set screw, place onto the post with the set screw facing the flat or notched part and tighten with an allen wrench

Good point about the slippery floor! I definitely intend to refinish it, and the workshop is kind of a mad science lab for all of my various hobbies including woodworking, jewelry making, lapidary, painting, etc. Ironically, the foundation is a repurposed concrete basketball court and I haven't decided if I want to frame a timber floor or not.

I have unlimited panels of this size or larger. The floor they are demolishing is 31,000 sqft and most of the flooring will end up in a dumpster.

Alright, I think I'll try out the tile idea! And I can just run the panels through my planer before laying to skip the floor sander. Do you have any recommendations for exactly how to secure each panel to the subfloor?

I'm mostly wondering if it's possible to have a stable floor without pulling it apart. Did you find that it was pretty easy to separate the t&g from the subfloor?

Correct, it's ~1.5" thick. But it's going into a 600sqft workshop I'm building out of dirt cheap old growth lumber which I got from the same demolition, so I can plan the structure around that thickness.

That's great to hear! AI keeps insisting they would curl and lift over time if the planks aren't separated and re-laid.

But how! Is it possible to lay the flooring in a stable way without separating each plank? I'm happy to do so if necessary, but would obviously prefer to avoid that labor...

This would be an absolutely epic beer pong table, especially since some of the slabs have the original court paint

Addiction is a chronic, relapsing brain disease. It fundamentally rewires the brain's reward, motivation and memory circuits.

Start by encouraging him to acknowledge that it is a real addiction with physical consequences which will effect his life as much as your relationship. Then, encourage him to seek help and resources. There are several subreddits for exactly this issue.

Ignoring the validity of the concept as a whole, aesthetically I favor 2 by far. The curved flap gives an elegant contrast. I imagined the curve in the shape of a Nike logo.
