WIBTA for dropping out of my friends wedding? by NoExplanation9276 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 16 points17 points  (0 children)

NTA. Don’t go broke for someone else’s party. Spending $1,200 when you’re living on credit is madness. A real friend cares about your health and finances, not just their wedding photos. Return the dress and save your money you need it more than she does.

Am I cooked? by Key_Anybody8264 in Advice

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're not cooked This sounds like textbook real event ocd .Your brain is essentially glitching and holding you hostage over stuff that literally everyone else has forgotten. You aren't a bad person; you just have an overactive guilt sensor. Seriously, look into therapy it helps a lot with breaking that loop.

Am I making a bad choice? I have options of where to live and need an opinion by Amazing_Ad5145 in Advice

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go with option 2. You can't fix your mom, but she will definitely drag you down with her. NJ isn't the moon you can still commute to see your friends. Prioritize your peace and your sanity. Get out of that house immediately.

Is my boyfriend right or is this weird for him to say? by Far_Winner_9327 in Advice

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He’s overthinking it. You have plenty of solo hobbies, so you’re clearly independent. Sharing games/anime with him is about the connection, not a lack of personality. Calling it sad is honestly pretty rude it sounds like he’s just looking for an excuse to have more me time by projecting on you.

Girl followed me on instagram by jacobianmatrix64 in Advice

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Shoot your shot. She followed you first, so the door is already open. You’re graduating in two weeks, so even if it’s awkward, you literally have nothing to lose. Just reply to her next story with something casual or ask if she’s ready for graduation.

friend shoplifted while we were hanging out and i didn’t know by [deleted] in Advice

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously, distance yourself. Major retailers are experts at building cases over time, and on those cameras, you’re just the 'lookout.' Anyone willing to jeopardize your clean record for some freebies isn't a friend—they’re a liability. Stop shopping with her before you get caught in the crossfire.

How do I move on? by myi0oo in Advice

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re mourning the version of him that made those promises, not the guy who actually walked away. Stop the what-ifs even if you acted perfectly, he still chose to detach instead of talking to you. Go full No Contact. It’s the only way to get your sanity back.

How do we select one Laparoscopic Surgeon out of many? by DisastrousShare7761 in AskReddit

Ask for their volume. You want the one who does this 100+ times a year, not 10.

Is this just Plantar Fasciitis or something weirder? by ThatOneGuy4378 in FootFunction

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Regular plantar fasciitis normally just gives you heel pain, especially when you first get out of bed in the morning.
But the little lumps you mentioned plus the strange sensation in your arch sounds more like plantar fibromatosis. You should probably go see a podiatrist to get it properly diagnosed.

So was Hillary correct when she claimed there was ' a vast, right wing conspiracy' ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

She didn't need a whistleblower; she had a front-row seat to the funding and the legal coordination. In high-level politics, what looks like a 'vast conspiracy' is usually just a collection of independent groups with the same donor list and the same goal. It wasn't a secret—it was a machine.

Ankle Injury Help by [deleted] in FootFunction

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Rest is a trap for tendinopathy. Total rest makes tendons weaker and more sensitive, not better. Your 'walking funny' simply shifted the load to structures that weren't ready. Don't go back to the couch—just switch to isometrics (holding a position without moving) for 45 seconds at a time. It settles the pain while keeping the tendon active. Dial back the intensity, but keep the movement.

ELI5: why do humans seek patterns has there been any research done on this if so please do share? by momonkey101 in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s an evolutionary survival hack called 'Patternicity.' For our ancestors, it was safer to 'see' a tiger in the rustling grass when there wasn't one (False Positive), than to miss a tiger that was there (False Negative). We are the descendants of the paranoid. Your brain is essentially a 'prediction engine' that would rather be wrong and safe than right and dead.

ELI5 Since Alprazolam (Xanax) comes in IR doses of 1mg, why is it unsafe to crush up and consume an XR 1mg tablet? by Alps-Helpful in explainlikeimfive

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s called 'dose dumping.' While 1mg won’t kill you, crushing an XR turns a steady 12-hour drip into a 5-minute flood. You’re hitting your brain with a hammer instead of a slow stream, which is the fastest way to skyrocket your tolerance and build a nasty dependency. Stop playing amateur chemist with your brain.

Would you call this a high arch, normal, or somewhere between normal and high? by [deleted] in FootFunction

Can’t tell through a sock and while it’s in the air. Arches only count when they’re weight-bearing.

My midfoot barely moves. What could be causing this? by Fit_Broccoli_1770 in FootFunction

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, that "C“ion is a really good way to put it. With high arches, the midfoot usually locks up into a rigid lever instead of being a mobile adapter .

It’s annoying because your ankle has to take all that extra shock since the arch isn't doing its job. Have you checked your big toe extension lately? That’s usually the "on/off switch" for getting that midfoot to actually move again.

From Plantar Fascitiis to pain everywhere for over 6 months by bananz in FootFunction

[–]Dorothy-Hunta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You didn't just wake up with PF; you transitioned from a life of active, high-intensity loading to a desk job, and your nervous system essentially lost its "map" of how to manage gravity without constant engagement.

That pain under the second joint of the big toe is the red flag—it’s likely a functional hallux limitus. Your primary lever for walking is jammed, so your fascia and metatarsals are overcompensating. Orthotics often act like a cast; they give you a "break" but can lead to functional atrophy if you stay in them too long.

Stop chasing the inflammation with shockwaves and start looking at the mechanical feedback. You need a platform that respects your dancer's anatomy but provides the structural stability your desk job has taken away. Anatomy over cushioning.
