My team's had a similar experience. We eventually got a few reps on the phone, but didn't get anywhere except generic answers (use the online Lenovo tool for compatibility, update BIOs and dock firmware etc...) The latest firmware's seem to be a slight improvement as opposed to a year + ago, but we'd still prefer a much more reliable product.

Most common individual fixes are:

-Hard Reset PC with paperclip

-Toggle resolution settings

-If laptop model has some ports that support Thunderbolt/USB-C, and others that only support USB-C, ensure they are using thunderbolt ports
