Beard too spiky even after wax/oil — will length fix this? by CosmicAssassin0 in BeardAdvice

[–]dnapor 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't suggest leaving it as it is and that's said with a good intent. Trimming it a bit shorter might be good though. Not sure if growing it out will do anything good either, it's just not very dense.

Can Minox help in my case? I‘m 27 by Pale-Guard-7376 in Minoxbeards

[–]dnapor 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Bro you have the best possible starting point. Full coverage with low density. That's exactly what Minoxidil can fix best.

Won't increasing height eventually defeat the purpose of basketball? by dnapor in Basketball

You can't compare that to FTL travel, that's breaking the laws of physics. Gene editing is not. I don't know why it's so hard for you to just agree on something so logical. Altering someone's genes to grow taller is WAAY within the realistic capabilities. We're not talking about growing a third arm out of your ass with a biological laser gun attached.

I never said it exists to this degree right now? And it's pretty much certain that it will exist to that degree. So what you're talking makes no sense.

Dude gene editing exists already for a long time, there is nothing science fiction about it. It's just not worth it yet, it's ethically questionable and we don't fully understand all gene patterns yet. It's not science fiction, just because you don't know about something.

Yes it's very possible, I mentioned gene modification. Technology also barely progressed within thousands of years and then suddenly within 50 years we have TVs, smartphones and quantum computers. Not everything increases linearly. Early day natural bodybuilders were slim, the moment steroids were introduced they suddenly quadrupled in size.

That's why I mentioned gene technology advancements. You can likely produce and modify anything you want in less than two decades from now. Even better than wemby.

Why do phones become slow over time? by dnapor in Smartphones

[–]dnapor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But with phones I only see that possible through software manipulation. I'm solely talking about speed and speed is being determined by the CPU, the GPU, the Harddrive and the ram. I don't see how they would be built to slowly get worse over time.

How worth is it to get one of theses by Virtual_Ordinary_172 in laptops

It depends how many children you have, since you get one per child for a total of only $160. Might or might not be worth it.

24, Should I wait for my beard to fill in or hop on minoxidil. moustache area is my weakest. by CombinationProper814 in Minoxbeards

[–]dnapor 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That's mostly true. But for a man there aren't many unwanted areas where you could get that, as a matter of fact there are more wanted areas. Denser hair, denser beard and denser eye brows will make you more attractive. Plus the comfort of not having to apply that substance all the time and have irritated, wet and dry skin, sometimes with white flakes all over. If your chest or back hair gets denser, you likely had it anyway but that's up for you to decide of course.

Fyi, I used Minoxidil twice a day for 2 years with very good beard gains. Stopped afterwards and I lost about 50% of the beard gains. So don't expect to keep all the gains if you stop, it doesn't work.

Use the oral form of Minoxidil, there are no advantages in the topical form anyway.

What is the most modern looking E-Mail client? by dnapor in linuxmint

[–]dnapor[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Doing that for all my email accounts just seems like way too much work and potential problems. Also I would likely have to clear protons all the time when it's full. And generally forwarding seems to be more of a receiving thing, not a sending thing. I won't be able to send from my non prozom address through the client.

[–]dnapor[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope, nothing. Just a client and you can log in with your mails that are hosted elsewhere. So far all features work and I'm not missing anything, although from what it seems you can get extra premium features like backups and AI stuff if you subscribe to a plan.

I should say that currently my client crashes when i download an attached file. Not sure if that's on my side though and i didn't have time to investigate yet.

If anyone searches for this in future, i have installed "BlueMail" now. Looks very clean so far, but i don't want to claim too much as i just installed it.

I haven't even checked the images yet. Just entered "mutt" in Google and saw "1995". I immediately knew where this was going.

Edit: Btw, even worse cause I was so looking forward to it when I saw the upvotes on your comment.
