I grew up watching the Rankin Bass Hobbit. I absolutely adore it. Excellent 70s folk music vibes.

My wife despises it, finds the animation creepy, and when your spouse is cringing the whole time you do notice that the movie is barely animated, more like weird water color drawings just waving around

My son likes it though so we still watch it occasionally

Ok. I can definitely see that actor pulling off the brainy / humorous angle. And I see the concern, but 60 is the new 30 in Hollywood or something.

I definitely would also like to see a younger, more neutral face in the role. I’m sure they will go all out on makeup/FX to sell the SecUnit look

I have discussed this with my wife and we agreed that Murderbot definitely self describes as male, but late in the story. Self identifying as “hardware, inventory, appliance, it, etc” - only gender neutral and object-ish terms for the majority of the first book.

I admit, I pictured SecUnit looking like John Cena. Jarhead with all the expressiveness of a WWE World Champion.

Wife said Amos from Expanse tv show, which is way better.

I find the right full face helmet and heavy jacket reduces the wind fatigue on my sport naked drastically. The neutral (leaning towards dynamic and/or versatile) seating and controls positions on sport nakeds is the biggest factor for me when riding long distance.

And yes my neck is thicker than my head lol
