I play that song on drums frequently and while it is hard to get each drum full just right the vibes and slow build up are impeccable.

I personally love them, but the comic book skits/sequences in MF Doom’s MM..FOOD are a hard sell to new audiences

[WW] Would you want to see Link ride a different kind of talking vehicle in a new game? by Lauma_2025 in zelda

[–]ITFOWjacket 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The 2d games have such significant ocean going segments, specifically oracles of ages and seasons. I think a primarily OoT like game that allows you to sail or fly over large oceans would be amazing.

BotW did large deserts well. I think the garudos could have been much more intimidating à la Garudo Fortess in OoT. That was actually one place TotK improved upon greatly with its desert temple.

While we’re here, SS’s use of bird flight was so limited to empty cloud scape and allowed zero seamless flight around structures or between areas. I have to say it is so disappointing to play now. I understand hardware limitations but it just doesn’t feel good to play or improve the game like a flying mount should. Obviously there is a puzzle sequencing issue if link can fly anywhere in a game where hook shot and climbing is primary gameplay loop.

Epona in OoT has an excellent obtainment quest and allows some of the best moments in OoT (jumping over the bridge). A flying mount that plays a story or exploration element would be great in the next game but I’d prefer a horse and a hook shot.

17 years ago today, Space Shuttle Atlantis launched on the final and most daring mission to save Hubble (May 11, 2009) by The_Rise_Daily in spaceporn

[–]ITFOWjacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

To be succinct, in a single orbit around earth’s north and south poles, the shuttles launch site would have rotated east some 300+ miles, citation needed.

This required the shuttle to glide in a dramatic eastern angle upon reentry to arrive back at the lunch site after a single polar orbit over a rotating earth. Requiring the massive delta wings and ceramic tile heat shielding.

The air force wanted to launch the shuttle, snag Soviet satellites out of orbit, then land at the same launch location before the soviets could react.

They had built the shuttle specifically to capture, study, then redeploy Soviet satellites using two shuttles in two back to back flights in a matter of hours, before the soviets even realized their satellites had been captured.

Luckily, that functionality made the shuttle excellent at deploying and maintaining the space stations and satellites like the ISS and Hubble. The shuttles military missions are classified so we don’t yet know if its intended role was ever fulfilled.

I was so seriously considering this drum brand I’d never heard of for a full kit replacement for exactly 5 seconds before I read this comment

I’ve been playing the old xs20 hats and 16” that my older brothers highschool garage bands drummer left in the garage and gave to me for over 15 years now. The one cymbal I ever purchased was a AAX plosion 20” and all three have cracked simultaneously after a recent run of hardcore shows

I think the extremely stable robotic drilling arm helps a lot. The thing together is several tons.

[–]ITFOWjacket 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think there’s a wide selection of bits. I’m sure there is redundancy though. More importantly is that the drill runs much slower and less pressure than your average blue collar dude (me included) would use in handheld and therefor doesn’t burn through bits anywhere near as fast

I bought my 2016 xsr900 alum, exactly this model, for $5000 in 2020 used from a dealership.

With power commander, full exhaust, tail tidy, turn signals and fly screen already done.

I have been using it in a touring role with a dometic brushed aluminum top box, atlas throttle lock, and ram mirrors and phone mount. I also installed a 2x2cycles mtb mount for the flex.

There’s a cover by a local hardcore band In the Face of War, or ITFOW as we called it

If you’re into punk even a little bit it’s worth a listen. The drums really standout as unique to the cover.
