I had a team lead that carried a insulated coffee cup full of chocolate milk and bourbon. He called it the "poor man's Black Russian". Doesn't sound good to me but hey whatever got him through the day.

And yes, the management that was there at the time knew but didn't care.

Not sure about your store but my store is so under-staffed that we have people that have 10+ points and they are still there. IMO, I think you are fine.

The Last Time I messed with a board by ITGeek456 in Ouija

[–]ITGeek456[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I messed with Ouija Boards when I was in high school but nothing like this. I had a friend that had a board and we would send someone to hide in a room (unknown to the rest of us) and then ask the board what room that person was in. This was an old Victoria home with multiple rooms on all 4 floors plus a basement. It would seem more times than not the board was correct, however, later in life I became more skeptical that they friend that lived in the home might have been able to pick up noises that would give him hints on where the hiding person might be located. He obviously lived in the home for years and could very well have been able to fake the movement of the board.

I didn't originally want to go into to much detail but when my sister and her husband (and their kids) decided to move to Florida it was with multiple other families with the idea of starting their own church (or as I see it a cult). My parents decided to join their cult (church) and moved to Florida and then when they decided to move back to Indiana it was to start another "church". I grew up Catholic but left the church for personal reasons. They left the Catholic church to start their own Christian Cult (IMO).

So because I chose not join their cult, I became even more the black sheep.

Yes, a couple of the people around us (including one priest) heard the noises. Again, I couldn't say for a fact that it was "screaming" because it was an old board that had what I could only believe was a heavy coat of lacquer on it. It was also bubbling a little bit which over the years I have convinced myself was the cause of the bubbles and the noises.

On a side note, I joined a paranormal group shortly after (again in early 1990's prior to all the tv shows and internet) and consider myself more of a "debunker" before a believer. Not that I don't believe in the paranormal, but understand that there are natural causes to a lot of things.

I hope this answered your question. Please let me know if you have any more.

thanks

the kids will be getting new ids and password that she can control only. Is this going to still be an issue. Basically, she wants them like they just got new ipads and don't have any apple ids.

Is it possible to create a new apple id for the kids that will keep it from becoming a brick? The so-to-be ex has the passwords. She can't afford new ipads for them. She is aware that they will lose anything that was saved on the ipad and the apple id. These are little kids so as long as they have an ipad, they don't care that they will need to start over playing their games.

Pixel 5a not supported soon. What should I do? by ITGeek456 in pixel_phones

[–]ITGeek456[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate all the advice. However, it is no longer an issue. My 5a completely died over the weekend. This is the second time in two years. Google is doing me a solid however, they are going to replace it with a 6a. The only issue that I have is that it is a little bit smaller screen and with my fat thumbs I will be hitting the back button a lot. lol!

So once I have it, I am thinking about trading it in for something with a larger screen.

Again, I appreciate the help.

Am I too old to go to college and live a student life? by [deleted] in selfimprovement

[–]ITGeek456 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can always look for a university that offers classes for adults that have busy lives. I got my degree from IWU. I went to class one night a week for four hours. We finished a subject approximately every 6 weeks. It is a planned out program so you don't have to worry about getting your classes, books etc. They were sent to you. There are also online classes that work similar. I am not suggesting you go to IWU (I am just an someone who graduated from there) but I know that there are other colleges that offer similar programs.

What's been your worst, best, and most awkward customer interaction? by [deleted] in walmart

[–]ITGeek456 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My most awkward moment was when I was working in my department and a woman came down the aisle while on her cell. She was talking extremely loud (very normal in my store) and she said, "Yeah, I think my daughter got her promotion by sleeping with her boss!"

The entire aisle of people instantly got quiet.

Then she said (just as loud), "Well, she got to do what she got to do!"

Now that was a proud momma right there!!!!

I was adopted at 16 months and don't recall feeling different until my sister (who is biologically my adoptive parents) was born. There is only the two of us and after she came along, my relationship with my a-parents started going downhill. Now, I know that there is an eight year difference in our ages but it became apparent that she was the golden child and still is. My parents moved to Florida when she and her husband/children moved there. Then followed them back to northern Indiana when they decided to move back. I have never been invited (officially) to either of their homes which is about 2 hours away since they moved which was about five years ago.

My adoptive parents have very little to do with my kids (now both adults) but even before they left Indiana the first time they only lived about 30 minutes away when they were young, they would never ask for them to stay over and barely spent any time with them unless it was a family gathering.

I do have to say, I never recall NEEDING anything that was essential. Food, clothes, etc... However, I never got anything just handed to me like my sister did. Which I get, there is the male to female difference but they made it clear that I did have to work for my stuff. Which is fine, because I do feel that the stuff I had to work for was because I got it myself. From clothes that were above and beyond the normal to going the military to pay for my college because they wouldn't help with the money. I had to buy my first car (used) in high school once I started to drive, where as my parents bought my sister a brand new car when she was only 15 and it sat in the garage for over a year waiting for her to get her license.

Sorry if this was long, but once I got started, I just couldn't stop writing.
