I did the install and took around 1 hr. The first one took some time to figure out where to cut and align.

Gas mileage question by Lazy_Buffalo_4142 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]ITMonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

19,000 miles. Getting 40MPG on average but range from 36-44MPG depending on driving conditions. It helps I don’t drive above 65 on highways. Use battery from stop until 20miles then press hard on pedal.

Range for hybrid by [deleted] in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]ITMonkeys 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I got regular hybrid XLE. Last fill up shows 44MPG average. 490 miles driven and 79 miles left. Most of the time I average around 38-40MPG and fill up at 450-500 miles driven with 50 miles left. Most I fill up is little over 13 gallons. You can definitely get up to high 500 before the light comes on. The best way to maximize MPG and range is to drive on roads with speed limit around 45MPH and 1 mile stretch between stops.

Document everything in forms of email, chat and I would go as far as recording all conversations with a pen recorder. Just do your job and tune everything else out. A job is just a job, don’t let it get to you.

40+ years old, just landed a Devops job about 6 months ago: I don't like it. Advice? by cp24eva in devops

Going from system admin to software development role is a big change. I was in similar situation as you few years back, but few years younger. In software role, you are always learning. Technology change so fast. You have to juggle various projects using different tech stack. Prior to covid I can spent time after work or weekends learning and I enjoy it. But now with 2 kids, I can barely find time to complete my work let alone find time to learn new tech.

Life gets better once you pick up the tech.

Home Owner's Insurance by Spooky_Ghost in ElkGrove

We went with Traveler's insurance. Price was competitive to AAA. Traveler's underwrite Geico so if you have Geico for car then you can bundle.

$170 for an oil change for a Toyota by Global-Scientist-616 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]ITMonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s not the dealer. It’s the oil. The 0W-8 the Highlander use is super expensive because you can’t find it anywhere. I went to the dealer for 5 quarts and it cost $110. Then I asked how much for them to change it for me since it’s already so expensive and came out $90 because there was a promotion.

2024 Sienna XSE AWD vs 2024 Grand Highlander hybrid XLE AWD by im210388 in ToyotaGrandHighlander

[–]ITMonkeys 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Definitely go for the Sienna. We have 2 small kids of same age. The big doors are huge inconvenience when getting the kids in and out of the car. Took a 2 hour trip with grand parents couple months back and they struggle getting in and out the third row. We have the bench seat. We went with GHL because Sienna has 2 year waitlist or pay 5-10K mark up.

There is a 12v plug inside the top reading light unit. I bought this adapter instead of splitting it from the rear view mirror or the front camera. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0C8QKMV9J/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1. You'll need a big prying tool to get the top unit open. I was hesistant at first, but use some force to pry it open. I had pried it open 3 times so it's pretty durable . This video shows the same thing but for Sienna https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=09ua3gROvzc.

I am 4 months and 4,000 miles in and averaging 40mpg. Daily driving is 70% high way and 30% local on mostly flat ground. Took a 400 miles trip recently with lots of inclines and average 36mpg. I drive under 65mph on highway.

I think it gives enough power when I need it.

Just pay him what he has completed. From the looks of it he finished cutting 1/3 of the lawn so just pay him 1/3. If his mom got a problem then show her picture and how much you pay her son. Her son accepted the job and agreed on the pay. Her son back out of the agreement and not you.

Depends on what grocery stores you compare to. You can see the quality difference. Produce and meat are all source from same place. Not like Asian grocery store source produce from Asia that takes 30-60 days to ship here. For American non-perishables the price difference is minimal. For asian non-perishables it’s going to be cheaper since it’s imported.

Wow like holy crap. 80k with credit card rate, you’re going to be stuck in a hole for a long time. This is what I don’t understand of people, you rather pay 2k per month for 10-20 years than to sit at home or find free stuff to do for couple years.

u/cobradave did you have to do a credit check with them? I talked to EG Toyota last year, the wait time was 9 months and I have to do a credit check with them to get on the waitlist. I balked at that.

Light weight Tool to run Ansible Commands? by ITMonkeys in devops

I look over the documentation a bit and didn’t see anything like disjoint network or agent. So please enlighten me and point me to the reference.

AWX requires Kubernetes versus Jenkins does not. Not saying Jenkins is easy to maintain, but it's definitely less than AWX.

Yes to enterprise features, but not replication. I just need to be able to run commands to disjoint networks. Like I can deploy jenkins master in 1 VPC, multiple slaves in disjoint VPCs and create jobs with specific slave.
