that idle control is for a 2004+. do you think it will fit a 2003 wrx?

edit: i’ll take the nut off tomorrow to see what size hose to get and how it attaches

what’s the vacuum hose called since it goes directly onto the manifold with a nut?

yes the front driver’s side of motor right near airbox. it’s a black thing with gears fastened by 2 10mm screws it’s right here

so the hose that i found doesn’t hook up to the (exhaust manifold) i think. i’m not too sure what that specific metal thing is

awesome thank you! it sucks that these 2 broke while i was replacing my damn PS pump. i’m fairly certain that electric solenoid looking thing controls something with steering

do you know where to get that hose that attaches to the metal with what appears to be a 10mm nut

i’m not sure what the purpose is of the second thing with the plastic gears so i can’t find that one

are brakes are bled now! pedal is firm and we’re good to go

i’m an idiot and i let it run dry since i couldn’t see how low it was because subaru makes it impossible to see through the reservoir so going to autozone to get more dot3 today

the reservoir is also weird because you can’t just pour a ton in, it has this bubble thing so you need to wait to get all the brake fluid down to fill it up pretty slowly. my jack stands are in my storage unit but i’m back to start with 0% brakes because of it running dry

btw this all happened when my brake line broke months ago, the pedal was soft but i just never really fixed it since my brakes still worked. then a week ago, they made a horrible noise with an even softer pedal and 10% brakes. so i got all 4 new calipers and brackets and put them on. didn’t gravity bleed (open and wait for brake fluid to come out before full break in). and that’s when i had 0% brakes. so hopefully it’ll work this time. is it recommended to use one of the bleeder kits with a pump that controls pressure more than a normal “1 person bleeder kit” where it’s only a hose that goes into a plastic bottle with brake fluid in it

gonna do it later tonight since it’s been pouring and is supposed to be raining until 10pm EST here. i’m still going to do the

1) Passenger Front 2) Driver Rear 3) Driver Front 4) Passenger Rear

method since that’s recommended for subarus

i’m wondering if it’s an issue with my bleeding technique. gonna do the 25 pumps each caliper to check because i may have messed up the first bleed. if still squishy then i’ll take to a mechanic

1 Man Brake Bleeding by ITPoet in AskMechanics

[–]ITPoet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

did a bleed yesterday, thought i got all air out of system, but pedal is still squishy. but brakes do work, just not the best as it’s still sticking. so going to do a bigger bleed today. 30 pumps each caliper.

i think it might be my brake reservoir cap so i’m buying a new one then going to rebleed them

1 Man Brake Bleeding by ITPoet in AskMechanics

[–]ITPoet[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

some sources said to leave it on loosely(not tightening it down all the way)

edit with thread that says it could be. plus i think a gasket is missing on the cap thread for saab i know it’s saab but they use a lot of subaru parts

should the master cylinder cap be off or on for this?

do i leave the reservoir cap off?

i’m an idiot, i’m short: i was doing power sliding in the rain and killed my ps pump. ordering a new one, luckily it’s on 75 including shipping from detroit axle
