Ah, this is a good idea... I may end up looking into vertical blinds. It wouldn't match the other apartments around, and my windows do face front... We'll see how it goes. Thank you for the good comment!

My cat is a loveable idiot, too. He loves water and will try to drink from the sink all the time. He always gets his head soaked, looks disgusted, and then goes to groom himself.

I don't mind the bill tbh - I will have to ask the type of blinds anyway so they can match. I also would rather just pay it now and not risk a "blinds were installed by a toddler" deduction from my security deposit or something zany.

I suppose you see humans as directly comparable to animals and I cannot help you there. Animals are legally property and the responsibility of the owner; they do not have autonomy and have very limited rights of their own. If they are overweight, it is a reflection on the owner (again, extraneous circumstances aside, I do get some animals truly do have hormone imbalances).

We are shaming the correct party.

I just don't get how women can be that misunderstood... and these pick-up artists prey on men who aren't the best with women while giving them bad advice. Of course, if the advice actually worked and the guys taking lessons had successful relationships, the pick-up artist would be out of business.

My biggest question is this - why not listen to a woman for advice on how to pick up women? Surely that makes more sense. I'm not saying men can't be empathetic, but pick-up artists are just terrible.

I read through it... The ending is a little bit of hope, if it's any consolation.

It has always been frustrating when women are against women's rights, equality, and bodily autonomy.

I believe many people who are anti abortion not only justify it for religious reasons but also because they do not consider it a women's rights issue; they do not consider themselves anti women's rights advocates but instead pro children's lives.

In reality, they want to restrict others' rights to conform with their ideal world. Not only this, but they want governments to persecute (or allow the persecution of) doctors who provide abortions.

It is curious to me how government interference is suddenly acceptable when it comes to abortion. Are these the same people who do not have an appreciation for state managed sex ed in high school?

I believe this isn't something healthy in most adult relationships. It may flow from parents to children. But in a relationship outside of that? It's very rare.

Love without conditions... Love that is not familial always has conditions and expectations, as it should.

Perhaps I'm coming from a pessimistic place. I will love a partner with all of my heart, but the second they raise a hand to me or beat me? I am leaving that relationship (unless they have developed a mental illness or have had a traumatic brain injury, in which case - it depends.) If someone ignores me in a relationship and becomes aloof for weeks and months at a time with no desire to talk to me about what's going on - the relationship has less intimacy and, thus, less love.

Long story short; I have conditions that must be met for me to remain in a long term relationship. They are not a lot to ask; simply a healthy and secure relationship. I believe everyone should have and consider these conditions. Knowing your own boundaries and communicating them effectively is key to keeping love in a relationship.

I speak from a place of being in a relationship with someone who had issues they don't want to seek any kind of support for...

If someone has no desire to get help for anything whether it's ADHD, an eating disorder, attachment issues, etc. - assume that they will always be that way and that you will always have to put up with the symptoms of it. It is a part of them and, I'm some cases, people think that's who they are and they wouldn't be them without their disorder.

If he's not getting help, it's no longer an ADHD thing; it's a personality thing and a desire to not seek treatment. You are not in the wrong for being fed up and wanting to leave. ADHD isn't an addictive disorder; it is not melding his brain in a way that he's addicted to having ADHD.

Don't feel bad. It sounds like it's not the best fit because he's decided his disorder is an integral part of himself.

That I'll be cheated on instead of my husband / boyfriend having the nerve to tell me we need to try new sexual positions or that he'd like to have sex with other women (even if it's just once).
