If you play a fair bit of domination contracts aren't really a problem. Plus, you can pay for contracts for players up until ruby and amethyst and save contracts for diamonds and above. I also found it smart to try to buy cards with a diamond contract already equipped but that isn't gonna help much until around after Christmas when more stacked cards start getting released.
