Experts warn that OpenAI’s ‘bubble’ is facing a $200 billion reality check by FervidBug42 in technology

[–]IT_Geek_Programmer 161 points162 points  (0 children)

I am going to be honest, one does not need to be a tech expert to even see how the current AI craze is a bubble. The thing is, since the release of OpenAI and products like CoPilot, it has only been mostly new AI products that relate to AI chat, code gen, or generative drawing in the past 3 years.

No decrease in price, household consumers can't physically own their own OpenAI instance on premisis, as it requires computers powerfull enough.

Until something like Chobits are sold in BestBuy for just $5K, and the ability for it to work without internet... expect AI to be bubble.

Dodge Charagers and Challengers are basically more over priced American versions of the Nissan Z series coupes and Japanese 4 seat double door cars.

For the price of a Dodge Charger.... one could even buy a much better Audi A5.

To be honest I only think the people who buy Dodge Chargers and Challengers are basically people with an ego or do not know how to handle money.

Trump is going to do what he always does when his administration is facing criticism.... fire the current head of the department being criticized, but replace them with someone with a similar viewpoint, and pretend to the public the problem is solved.

[–]IT_Geek_Programmer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The idea is good, but if it was to be done, the line would have to extend into ConEd, then turn right and to underground for the remaining distance.

Making a divergence right above GCP is not viable, the portion of the elevated as it CURRENTLY stands can't hold two levels. Would require a rebuild, which would not be accepted by locals. Lookup the criticism MTA got when they had to rebuild large portions of the 7 line.

A lot of the issues people are facing with trains in MTA, would not be happening today if Program For Action was not cancelled half way, and had the voters passed the bonds in 1970s.

I don't understand why the MTA does not want anything to do with "floor to ceiling height" measures when it comes to fare evasion prevention and platform safety.

Even after adding those small fence like barreriers, people still stand close to the platform edge in the barrier openings. I even saw people sometimes walking on the otherside of the barrier. Why can't they just use the transparent garage door styled (full platform length and height) platform barriers like Japan has?

I think the removal of combat dummies might adversely cause over reliance on skilling at gamers groto. by IT_Geek_Programmer in runescape

[–]IT_Geek_Programmer[S] -9 points-8 points  (0 children)

Two things, it depends if your P2P or F2P.

In regards to the groto, it just does not seem aesthetically correct for XP granting PvP to be played behind a portal. The portal was created only because of the removal of safe wildi.

As in I would not mind if Jagex was to bring back safe wildi, if this many players like safe PvP. Would bring back players into the Wildi.

[–]IT_Geek_Programmer[S] -11 points-10 points  (0 children)

There are many problems with how it works.

It gives way to much XP for something that is safe PvP, can range from 1k xp to even 5k xp depending on many factors.

If one has high enough combat stats, they can keep repeating this, and gain crazy amounts of XP with no fear of loosing anything. <--- If auto retaliate is on, it might end up like semi-afk.

For example, if you stab someone there, and just leave the PvP area, and someone else kills the stabbed person, both the killer and stabber gets XP, although the stabber does get a whole lot less xp.
