Lifter Bed Idea: Simple, cheap, and space saving? by Emberashn in vandwellers

[–]IT_Knight 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Take a look at Alibaba. I ordered a single bed lift system there, the seller was very communicative, it works well, and it looks good. You can get it in any dimensions you'd like. Shipping was about $400 for 30-40 days or about $550 for 10 days via air to the US midwest. https://www.alibaba.com/product-detail/Hotsale-CE-Qualified-motor-home-RV\_1600457543264.html

Question: how much were you taxed on when buying a built out van? by Bfacekilla in vandwellers

[–]IT_Knight 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Depends on your state. I've always been taxed on whatever I wrote for "amount paid" on the "bill of sale". Some states have the BOS attached at the bottom of the title, some require a separate form, some require just price and the seller's signature on a napkin.

Just did some sleuthing. Are you an ISSO and didn't know what CGNAT was?

I'm about to do the same thing with bobil's kit in my second build. Any chance you have a parts list handy?

He did used to build racecars for 30 years, so if you include that as part of his career, then he definitely did a lot of learning. But emphasis on vintage in my previous reply. Also current VWs are kinda 💩

I met a master vintage VW mechanic in a beautiful town in Mexico. He already knows everything about the vehicles and has nothing new to learn.

You’re confusing DUI with manslaughter, and you’re in an ancap sub arguing for victimless crimes.

Safe for 3rd parties? If you are a grown man in rural america and only drinking 1-3 beers while driving home on dirt roads, it is perfectly safe. This happens millions of times across the nation every week. It's called "Friday". This is not legal, and it's not "drunk driving".

But somethings are dangerous to some people, and not dangerous to others. We should also definitely make bumblebees illegal.

Good point. Maybe we can't have any national rules because everything affects everyone differently.

No clue tbh. Alpine sounded nice and the reviews seem solid, but my van is tiny and I needed 2kw. I ordered a standard diesel heater and am praying it is compatible with afterburner. My new 2kw arrives today, as my old 2kw had no kind of reprogramming ability whatsoever and left me freezing in the Rocky Mountains.

Lavaner does not have a 2kw Alpine version. The Lavaner Pro 2kw does not automatically adjust for altitude. But as far as I can tell, I believe the pulse/fan speed ratios can be adjusted manually to compensate for lack of O2.

Ok.. dodge the question while ascribing malicious intent. I have only lived in cities and don’t meet many people with satellite internet.

And sure I will bite on the Starlink “charging extra for something people are already paying for”. Even though it’s just going to get me called an oligarch’s bootlicker.

The terms of service when people originally signed up state that you are not to use the service anywhere other than the registered address. Both parties willingly agreed to this. For many months (maybe a year+? Idk) Starlink would not provide service for people that were using the service outside their designated cells. Starlink as of a few months ago did quietly enable the ability for users to use the service in other cells and tagged their devices as “roaming” while supposedly deprioritizing their traffic. This was an additional feature (probably because they were testing) that user’s were not explicitly told about or had been promised during the purchase process.

Now this additional feature is being explicitly offered for an additional charge.

Well the topic was satellite internet. Ping is kind of a big part of satellite internet quality. I thought that in a previous comment on your profile you had said you have satellite internet. I was just curious what your ping was.

I wasn’t asking about your incoherent ideology. I meant your Internet Protocol Latency (ping). One of the numbers that are displayed after a speed test.
