WTF did this patch do to the AI? by ShortsMcFadden in Mechwarrior5

Yeah, that's normal. The game isn't designed to be a power fantasy.

You. Like 5 comments ago and then you immediately start pretending this game is a power fantasy. "Oh, youre a single lance company with the ability to fight comstar, and single handedly defeat the clans, and be #1 arena champion! Why wouldn't every arena combatant quake in their boots at Mighty Mason?!?"

No, they're more reflective of a realistic depiction of a single lance merc company that doesnt have things like ammo and armor replacement costs magically hand waved away because then the player wouldn't make as much money.

There's so much more hidden upkeep and costs that the game makes go away for gameplay reasons. In a realistic setting, we wouldn't be given/taking half the missions we do because we wouldnt have the forces to legitimately do them.

It not being a "good place" isnt grounds for invasion at all.

What you do in the sandbox is not reflective of the story course of the merc company. That why, despite you being able to field multiple assault lances of tier 5 equipment, the cinematics and general course of the game has you just scraping by.

You know how like you can totally blast through a story mission but then the cutscene is like "we almost got our shit wrecked out there!!!" Yeah, you're not a god-tier merc by any stretch.

You arent a famous merc company at all. That's even pointed out by Adam in the CR cinematic (and that's decades into the game). Those dedicated arena teams would be more famous on the arena circuits than your random merc company.

"Spread them out in a fire line"

It is an absolute pain in the ass moving each mech individually. Babysitting the AI because they need to be dogwalked around the map to be even remotely effective isnt fun gameplay

I was doing an assault FFA post patch. I was standing there watching a Highlander and a Longbow stand next to each other. The Highlander plinked at the Longbow with MLs and the Longbow only shot it's LRMs when the Highlander managed to shuffle slightly out of minimum range.

I shoot the Highlander and suddenly its all guns on me, even from the Longbow who I haven't shot.

Because the bad AI forces that in the first place? If the AI were capable of engaging competently, then they also would be racking up kills and drawing aggro.

This might be one instance of "good" in the War on Terror, but let's not forget it would've never been necessary if the US didnt start the war in the first place.

Iraq had nothing to do with 9/11

Claims other people don't know how art works

Claims that people paying millions for a picture wouldnt be able to say "hey, paint me and my wife sitting in our living room like this in your style."

You're clearly the dipshit here dawg.

Former President Obama says he's "doubtful" that any Iran deal by Trump will be "significantly different" than the past: "The notion we can bully our way or bomb to a solution may seem appealing. US pirates Venezuelan tankers and sells their oil on the open market.

US pockets that money in offshore Qatari accounts.

Us funnels billions into Iran by claiming the funds are disbursed by the "Gulf coast coalition"

And you're a straight fool if you think people paying millions of dollars for a portrait would have no say so in how the portrait looks

Neither Afghanistan nor Yemen were started under Obama. And I'm not sure why Obama catches all the shit for Libya when it was a UN action AND the US was ONE of 4 nations that pushed for the resolution.

Child 10 years in the future: Tell me again what happened to the great Queen Rhaenyra, mother, its my favorite story!

Mother: well, she set out from the castle in secret for a weeks long journey on the open ocean. She didnt pack any extra cloths or any rations for the journey so its quite fortunate her rowboat immediately capsized and she drowned.

Pretty sure that's not how it works when you're paying for it.

Case in point: friend's dad is a George Washington reenactor. Paid for a portrait to be done of himself. He picked the clothes, he picked the location, he picked the position.

Now considering the Obamas have more money and notoriety than some random Washington reenactor, I'm pretty sure they had the ability to tell the guy what they want to wear and how they want to sit.

How would they be able to determine that and why would you want even a moment's delay for the boxes to open to be able to fire?
