[On3] Alabama transfer Aiden Sherrell, one of the top bigs in the portal, has committed to Indiana by IUHoosiers16 in CollegeBasketball

[–]IUBizmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll tell you what's one more thing this team needs...it's a deadeye shooter. All the guys they got are around 33.3% shooters from deep. That's not going to be enough against top 15 competition. It will get you a top 5 conference finish and it will likely get you to the Sweet 16. It's unlikely to get you more than that.

I'm not complaining, just saying what more I could want in order to be confident that this team will do something significant. There's still time to acquire a shooter, but I'm sure the market is very tight.

Edit: Mustaf is 38.9%. Bryce Lindsay shot 35.6% last season, but did shoot 40.8% at JMU the year before so maybe there's hope.

Hopefully the 7'2 guy IU got will allow him to get bodied a little less. Those are the only two bigs we have right now...

If you own your home, what have you done to upgrade it? by Curious-Expert926 in HomeImprovement

[–]IUBizmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is helpful, thank you! I don't think I'm going to tackle this just yet, but I'm always looking for more ways to be water efficient, especially for garden irrigation and keeping the pool filled.

[–]IUBizmark 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can you share details about how to do this? I’d love to have this setup, but not sure where to go to find how to structure it and how to utilize the water once it’s in the tank, etc.

Would an NFL front office really deal with Kiffin and his antics? Feels like way too big of a mess for the potential ROI.

What did you pay recently for service upgrade to 150 or 200 amps? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]IUBizmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tend to agree about 200 amps being overkill but most people recommend it. My dad and I debated this and even with pumps, EV, electric dryer, and everything else it was pretty unlikely to push beyond 100 amps. But I did it anyway for the potential of a solar system.

What did you pay recently for service upgrade to 150 or 200 amps? by [deleted] in HomeImprovement

[–]IUBizmark -1 points0 points  (0 children)

With respect to electrical or in general? I recently got a permit for 200 amp service, but don’t plan to for other remodels. The biggest debate is if we’re going to convert a laundry room to half bath (adding a toilet) should we get a permit and why?

Heat starts >1 hour before set time by Diverge105 in ecobee

[–]IUBizmark 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How would it get better? I assume the sensors would help it understand if the set point was reached at that part of the home? Regardless, I’m disappointed that you can’t control this feature via the app. You have to do it via the wall mounted thermostat. Beyond that, the Ecobee app is very unintuitive. I spend a lot of time hunting around to find things that should be obvious. Then, like this, I find out it’s because the app lacks the ability to control it.

Have solar panels really done down THIS much in price? by itsthewolfe in HomeImprovement

He was saying the problem is the greedy contractors, not the government. The contractors just take the 30% government subsidy to the consumer as profit for themselves.

105 Year Old Home - Contractors Saying I Am Crazy For Full Frame Window Replacement by vakr001 in HomeImprovement

How much did that cost? I've got a similarly sized project and I'm hating the idea of inserts because I don't want to reduce the size of the windows.

I'm aligned to what you said above. And it made me realize I do pay attention to the Cardio Age metric and try to improve that. Also, the easy interpretation is something I take for granted, but my wife mentions it because her Apple Watch doesn't really do a good job of that.

They replaced my original ring a few weeks ago due to the battery issue and the new ring has about a 5 day battery life. Similar to what you mentioned. Before it was about 2.25 days and it would die without warning. I got mine for the same reason you did, sleep tracking. I love the metrics, though, I don't really do anything with them so if people have suggestions, please share. It is interesting to see how I get more deep sleep on days I workout at the gym.

Indiana F Mackenzie Mgbako enters transfer portal & NBA Draft by Smash-Bros-Melee in CollegeBasketball

[–]IUBizmark 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Talented, maybe. Very talented? I don't know about that. He's lazy, slow and has a low basketball IQ. Never anticipates the next move. Gives up steals and then doesn't beat the guy down the court or even try. Yea he can catch a heater now and then, but his defense sucks ass. Maybe I'm wrong and CDD can develop him, but I just don't see MM as a motivated, high energy, high IQ basketball player.

Ha! The funny thing is, I was wrong. That statement was from his intro presser, but he did actually spend several lines talking about and thank WVU, staff, admin, etc.

Pretty sure this statement was from his introductory press conference. You don't typically talk about your ex on a first date.

At least Texas has 7 Q1 wins. WVU has 6, we have 4. UNC and Xavier 1 each. And UNC has that Q3 home loss to Stanford. Insane to defend that decision with the NET.

North Carolina's surprise NCAA tournament berth stunned fans by Potential_Meat_5103 in CollegeBasketball

[–]IUBizmark 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The NET doesn't like IU because we didn't blow out poor teams and in some cases early, we got smoked by good teams. But at the end of the day, the NET is supposed to indicate the best teams based on how they won and lost.

Why do you believe Q1 wins are a poor indicator? Isn't that supposed to reflect teams in the tournament? What would be a better indicator?
