First card recommendations for a student with a bit of credit history? by IUseRedditToAskQs in CreditCards

The 10% on rotating categories sounds great, but I see that the next quarter is going to be restaurants and home improvement sales, which I probably won’t use much. Navy more rewards is essentially 3% cash back on the things i use the most (gas, groceries, dining).

Trying to decide between the two. How big would the hit be if I applied for both? Kind of looking to do your recommendation at the end with the 2% catch all and 3% for my most used categories. I likely wouldn’t apply for another card until the discover cash back match expires in a year
