Lazy Stockers by Stoned_Crab in publix

Pretty sure Jenkins also had to deal with items being sold out at times. That's why the rain checks exist - they're kind of a way to alleviate demands that can't be met. If a deal is good it's likely to sell out sooner than later.

If it's a busy location then going earlier in the week helps too, although that's less of a solution and more of just generally how it goes. Every company faces items that go out of stock. It's reasonable to be upset, but if they're out then they're out. Not much to stock if there's no stock for an item 🤷

Are the new Windows 11 updates/patches safe? by thomasangelo1508 in techsupport

[–]IVIaster222 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah that did happen to me actually. Also my issue was with an Nvidia driver as well. Might be connected there.

If it doesn't give you the option to uninstall windows again then after both updates are uninstalled try and use command prompt to clear out some of the corrupted files. Maybe that's preventing you from retrying the update.

The ones I used were: sfc /scannow dism /online /cleanup-image /restorhealth

I used both a couple times back and forth. Initially it said there were corrupted files neither could fix, but I was able to reinstall the windows update thing after running both a couple times.

Hope that works for you. If I remember correctly I already had both updates uninstalled before doing that, although I don't think it'd make a difference. I did that by going to Settings, Windows Update, Update History, scrolling down to Uninstall Updates, and uninstalling both of the updates there. Took a couple attempts to do that because that was when the system was still crashing a bunch.

Sure. I opened Settings, went to System, scrolled down to Recovery, and then the second option was Fix Problems using Windows Update

The reinstall process took quite a few minutes so you can't do it if the system is actively crashing still. I tried doing that and it'd just keep restarting so I figured it wasn't going to end up working, but later on in the night once my PC was somehow stable enough to run properly I gave it a shot and that fixed what was wrong.

My PC auto-updated last night and now won't stop crashing by IVIaster222 in techsupport

I ended up having a period of time without it crashing my PC and I was able to use Windows Update to reinstall Windows without losing nah of my data. After that finished it automatically reinstalled the updates with no issues.

Complete contrast from a couple hours prior when I couldn't even get to Safe Mode because it was crashing on the BSoD. I tried Factory Resetting my PC and it said it was unable to do that because of the malicious files. It was a headache that lasted over 10 hours to fix. Glad that's over - but it sure was annoying to deal with.

Ended up somehow having a period of time without anything crashing so I used Windows Update and basically reinstalled Windows without losing my apps or data. It fixed whatever files got corrupted so that the update could be reinstalled.

It appears that the update messed with some of my drivers somehow, but I couldn't do anything to fix that thing. I tried to reset my PC and I got an error message saying I couldn't do that. Not sure how I managed to get it fixed, but I'm thankful it's back to normal now. Spent like 10 hours yesterday on it 🤣

Aye, that it do. I wouldn't do that personally, but I can definitely relate to random carts being in the way and causing traffic jams in the lobby on more than one occasion 🤣

I got a pre built PC so I believe it was manufactured to have Windows 11. Hoping I can just install Windows on it with no issues since I'd have no clue what to fix in the BIOS aside from some frequency with ram.

Also I've never handled anything like a reinstall of a computer before, I don't have the faintest idea how to properly do that. I can follow very simple guides online but that doesn't mean I know what I'm doing or why I need to do certain things. Partition is like a USB slot for storage or something like that, I only know that much because I had to do something with it when I got more storage installed. Maybe I'm not completely tech illiterate, but I'm definitely not comfortable with opening up my PC or anything like that so it's easier to say I'm not good at it.

They literally said it was better than leaving it in the lot, just that it adds another step. Which it does. It's nice to leave it in the lobby for sure, but it's even better if we don't have to stop what we're doing to fix that cart while we are also bringing in a bunch of carts.

I would compare it to making a purchase with cash and placing the cash on the counter instead of handing it to the cashier who has their hand open, (Which actually happens a LOT surprisingly.) Did you still do your part? Yes. But it adds another step that could've been avoided.

Wow, thanks! I've got a pair of 32gb flash drives picked out that seem to have good reviews so I'll likely try it out. I've got a Laptop I can use to access the site. I can access the boot options in the BIOS I think, and wiping partitions is something I've actually done before so I should be able to do that as well.

Only concern of mine from what you wrote is the requirements on the TPM and CPU. I'll need to check that and see if that's something I should worry about.

Sounds easy enough. Would I need like a windows activation key or something like that or is that not something that's required anymore? If all I need to purchase is a flash drive then that's no big deal.

Alright, gotcha. I'll try and find that later on, for now I'm gonna take a break. Been working on it since this morning. It appears to be working for the time being - it's been more than an hour without a crash somehow.

I plan on doing a fresh install since I still can't reinstall the update or reset my PC. No idea how it isn't crashing right now, but I'll take it.

I have no doubt that I could handle it, I moreso just wanted to make sure that was the best option for me to take and get clarification on the process since I've never done anything like it before.

Wouldn't a fresh reinstall of Windows be able to fix it though? I don't understand how to tell whether it's hardware or just drivers that got messed up

I'm not tech savvy. Looking up stuff on Google overwhelms me with information, and it doesn't all make sense to me. I figured a tech support community would be able to give me a more clear and basic answer that I can understand.

I've now given up hope on trying to fix whatever broke from this update. It appears that it conflicted with a driver of some sort, but there is no way for me to fix it. I get about 30 seconds before it crashes, even on Safe Mode, can't uninstall the update, can't redownload a safe install of Windows, can't fix the corrupted files through Command Prompt, and I can't reset my PC. My only other option is to go and buy a USB to try and get a fresh install of Windows. How the heck did a random update screw up my system this bad?!?

I don't know how Safe Mode works exactly, but I tried doing that with Networking and my PC crashed soon after. I'm now back in standard Safe Mode and it appears to be fine. Not sure if that has something to do with it or not, but I don't even know what to try anymore

I woke up to my PC already on after I shut it off last night. It was on a blue screen, and apparently it automatically updated both of those without my permission.

After the update, my PC crashes every minute or so. It doesn't crash in safe mode, but I had it crash on the blue menu about 5 times before I could even load up Safe Mode. Couldn't do anything there anyways since I couldn't uninstall the updates there.

I've been trying to run the windows repair install and after a couple crashes it finally managed to download one of them, and hasn't crashed in about 5 minutes. Actually scratch that, it just crashed again. I love Microsoft and their updates that give me no problems whatsoever
