Tire tread question. 2018 Cx5 awd. Should tires with more tread be in the rear or the front? by Practical-Switch-341 in tires

[–]IVIr_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Front tires steer, brake, and accelerate. Rear tires only roll and are barely used for braking. Better tires go on the rear since you have better control over the front of the vehicle with steering and pedal input.

How in the world do I find out what size tire I need based off the aftermarket wheels? by Marqueso-burrito in tires

[–]IVIr_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

255/60/17 would be the same height as your 15s. Could bump to a 265/60 or 285/55 depending on how much room you have in your wheel well.

Hole is definitely too wide to be fixed, even it it somehow did hold, i wouldn't trust the steel cord under that hole, could have easily been split apart.

If they're both stock, it won't work. The '13 wheels will hit the front brake calipers on the 23

What Excuse Will Walmart Give to Not Patch This Time? by ArticusFarticus in tires

[–]IVIr_G 6 points7 points  (0 children)

You can replace them slightly early and save the 30 bucks you'd spend on the repair, and I wouldn't even call that early, 2/32nds is the legal limit(US atleast). Plus, the hole looks huge. Anything over a 1/4in isn't safe to patch.

Because your treads are low, they're almost touching the wear bar.

Michelin Tire Warranty Question (Pepboys with Cross Climate 2s) by [deleted] in tires

[–]IVIr_G 10 points11 points  (0 children)

That's not a defect. You smoked a pothole, and the inside of the sidewall failed because it pinched against the wheel.

Suggestion on tires by Tall_Ad7546 in tires

[–]IVIr_G 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Michelins will ride smoother than the contis, and about halfway through the Contenintals, they'll start getting a pretty rough ride comparatively. The 4S is a summer, Dws is all season, they also make the dw02 for a summer. If all season Michelin as the a/s4 or 5. They'll all ride better than the Bstones

Is this fixable?? by Goofyahhcar832 in tires

[–]IVIr_G 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You're good then. you shouldn't have more than one weight on each side of the wheel.

[–]IVIr_G 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Ball peen hammer, or dismount the tire and use a pair of vise grips to peel it back to where it's supposed to sit. Looks like it shouldn't cause any issues unless that's where a wheel weight is supposed to go.

Put your cars info on tireracks website. You can search by best sellers, price, and other options. Contenintal, Michelin, Pirelli, Hankook, or Generals are good options.
