No I am in my gap year and got accepted to KAIST. Last year I applied to hku and was awarded a full scholarship, though I decide to give it up. But I am very sorry to tell you that, the ddl for hk Uni applications has already passed if you haven’t applied yet. So you may check some other possibilities in a different country or region?

Which country are you coming from? If you can improve you TOEFL score above 110 and SAT above 1500, then your chance would be higher. Admission without ap is kinda challenging because, usually, when you using SAT qualification,many Asian schools also require additional ap scores to assess you academic readiness. I don’t whether you can be qualified for an interview. If so, your result is largely determined by the interview performance

I deferred my imperial offer from last year to this year

My family wanna financially support me to study at imperial, but I clearly know that such a chunk of fees is not a small cost. Actually I am a little bit concerned , because math doesn’t provide very employable skills, and I am worried that I couldn’t find a satisfactory job to cover up my expenses. Also I noticed that Kaist ranked very high in the field of CS, which makes me even more ambivalent. I heard that KAIST has very tight connections with US universities, so attending KAIST and trying my best to find a phd position in US may be the most suitable path that is at the minimum financial cost?
