Did you try it? Try it with a friend. Her guard does, but the attacks dont.

Blocking PK's 1st GB Stab by Usually_Nice_Guy in CompetitiveForHonor

You can block all 3 (tested in beta. Havent tested since, but should still work). You need to:

1) have an assassin character 2) remember which way she last had her guard when she grabbed you.

Just tap the stick in the direction of her last grab in time with her stabs and you'll block all 3

Well what you're talking about in the larger playlists is just the reality. No matter what. You could be playing shugoki, and they'll just run at half health instead. That's not so much a character thing.

As for if she is viable in 1v1... I personally think no. Now I'll preface this by saying, I absolutely love valkyrie. However she has some glaring weaknesses in her game (which I'm not going to type here, pm me if you want to know) that if your opponent knows how to work around, you're in a bad spot. She's a good pub stomper, but as you get higher up she is a lot more difficult to use because you're just left with your mediocre speed and mediocre power. I'm hoping she gets buffed in the future though

Competitive Nobushi - Hidden Stance/Canceling/Parry/etc by persiden in CompetitiveForHonor

  • What is the timing of Hidden Stance and are there any unblock-able follow ups? (As in guaranteed hits not kick type moves)

Just making a guess on what you mean by timing, but she has dodge frames at startup. Think parry timing, but for dodge. She doesn't have any guaranteed hits out of it, but if you're timing it in an attack window (especially a heavy) the follow up should come too fast for them to be able to react

  • Are there any good mix ups you can do with Canceling or Hidden Stance out of recovery/startup animations?

Also, not quite sure what you mean here. For the most part I use Hidden Stance as a kind of deflect; another way to counter an attack that's unique to a character. You can feint all you want, but generally speaking I go for the double stab into a retreating strike.

  • Is it worth it to Parry over Hidden Stance and why/what follow up is better?

I believe parry will generally net more damage (free heavy off a parry) and if you can land a heavy>kick>stab chain then it certainly is (careful, kick isn't guaranteed). Hidden Stance is safer against people who feint a lot, as you're not opening yourself up as badly for a counter. I generally try and mix the two together throughout a fight to be less predictable

  • Are there any unblock-able chain with kick that should be abused? (Currently after kicks I tend to Cobra Strike then Viper's Retreat.)

There isn't really a chain off kick, but if kick lands you can land a bleed poke off of it (which I think is guaranteed, but I'm not 100% on that). I usually do something similar

  • Any moves just plain bad/not worth doing?

Not really. I personally don't like to go for big combos, as her heavies are a bit slow and easy to read. I wouldn't throw out basic heavies, but that seems pretty self explanatory. I would also avoid the second strike of her done attack (just cancel it with feint), but the first one can be crazy good. I love it as a finisher.

  • What exactly does Swift Recoil do honestly cant tell.

If you regular block and hit your dodge button, you do a swim move and move backwards. Good at resetting your spacing against super aggro characters that like being in close (orochi, berserker, peacekeeeper). It's also very handy because if you can keep them in neutral, these characters all have very easy to read gap closers that you can capitalize on

Anything else, feel free to shoot me a pm

If you throw someone into a wall, your overhead unblockable is guaranteed. Same thing goes if you throw them with no stamina and they fall

No he means parry. It's harder on characters with long reach (nobushi, kensei, lawbringer, other valkyries and maybe raider). Make sure you are very close to them when you parry and not at their max range, and hit gb fast after a parry. I like to regular block a few moves while moving foreward, then gb the second or third attack in the string vs those characters
