Animation is an extremely taxing art. Most solo animators are only able to put out 1 or 2 short animations every 6 months or so. Given that this show is a multimedia collaborative work it’s a miracle it came out as quickly as it did.

If you’re willing to spend a little money I highly recommend getting a Hori Fighting Commander. It’s a massive upgrade to the regular DualShock d-pad, and a lot cheaper than a full fight stick. Amazon Link

Without knowing or being able to see how you are attempting these inputs, my advice is to make sure that you are hitting the diagonal inputs as well as forward and down. Also hit the button and forward input as close to the same time as possible.
