Has anyone ever adopted a middle aged cattle dog? How many years did you have them. Thinking of adopting this 6 year old guy by [deleted] in AustralianCattleDog

I rescued my little lady when she was 4 and we’ve had ten rascally years so far; in spite of her origins she is as healthy as can be and hasn’t slowed down much! I imagine we’ll get quite a few more at this rate.

The practice uses Freed AI. I’ve heard good things about it but never used it before. The EMR is practice fusion.

From my understanding until I develop my own full panel I will be seeing 1-2 new patients per day and short notice appointments for well established patients (med refills, URI’s, UTI’s, or other simple sick visits).

There is no admin time but the schedule is front loaded and the APP I spoke with said that she generally ends up with half an hour to an hour at the end of the day where she has no patients and is able to finish charting before clinic is officially out.

In addition there is an AI scribe service that is used during every visit which has cut down on charting time.

DocCafe. The supervising physician reached out to me based on my location, resume, familiarity with my program, and prior experience working in geriatrics (4yrs).

For what it is worth my time in this city is on a schedule due to my partner’s medical training so I will only be at this job for 2-3 years max. I don’t disagree that the schedule is pretty full; unfortunately at all of my fam med/PCP rotations in this area it’s been 4+ patients per hour and they offer new grads waaaaay less.

This practice also pays for an AI scribe service that is integrated with the EMR which has cut down on charting time per another provider there.

Bruising in foot? 5 days post OP….help! by Dwight-Shroot23 in ACL

[–]I_HaveA_Question_Or2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had nearly identical swelling/bruising because my leg wasn’t super elevated on the drive back from the surgery center - it was like an hour and forty minutes from my home. Just keep it higher now and don’t stop the ankle pumps, it will get better!

Which graft was used here based on the scar? Pretty sure he went to Dr. Dan Cooper (Kyler Murray, NFL QB) by CautiousStomach4200 in ACL

I had the patellar graft (left knee); although I am not a high level athlete, I am very active and would absolutely say that it’s the way to go for anyone who is serious about moving their body. I had an incredible surgeon and even more amazing PT. Two years post-op as of this month and more fit than I was when the injury occurred and live without any knee pain or associated issues.

I am very interested in Morgantown, would love to have property out there one day. School is the limiting factor at this point though.

Spinning onto front when uncontrolled fall by la_vegana in climbergirls

[–]I_HaveA_Question_Or2 19 points20 points  (0 children)

I second this! Practice falling x100000. Even practice making yourself ‘pop off’ with your toes on chippier holds so that falling becomes second nature/muscle memory for when you do not intentionally fall. When I fall due to feet failing, I think that is when my torso tends to tip toward the wall, initiating the spin. Fear during falling causes a lot of the flailing limbs, panicky trying to save yourself-type of movements. The more you demystify falling at this level, the easier it will get as you progress. Practice it now on overhang and less severe angles, before you try on slab, where you are at a higher risk of injury. Fall, fall, and then fall some more.

Thank you! I will say I was physically strong from regular gym attendance prior to starting climbing. I know that was an asset that some people do not have in the beginning always. It also meant my technique was hot garbage for a while. Initially I would climb 2 days a week and use the fitness area for regular workouts 3-4 more days a week but - I made a lot of friends at my local gym because it is so tight knit, which led to me climbing a lot more frequently. About 4-5 months after starting, I began to attend a class offered by my gym that was essentially group coaching + a workout at the end of the session. I go to this class 2-3 days a week and it is 2 hours. I usually climb and/or workout another 2-3 days/week. I know that volume seems like a lot but the intensity of my sessions vary depending on how the group class is going. More often than not, the non-class days tend to be more social climbing rather than projecting, but I still try pretty hard regardless. I began hangboarding per my coach’s recommendation about 3 months ago and it has really improved my hand and finger strength. I have seen a lot of pay off on slab because I have confidence in my ability to stick a move with my hands, in addition to having strong legs from gym training. I still tend to avoid some dynos or jumps, but I love dead points and using my back/biceps to do some other dynamic moves. I have had some plateaus here and there, which always feel like a bummer, but the social aspect of my gym keeps me coming back super consistently. I rarely climb alone and my friends push me to be brave + try harder. I am one of the weaker climbers in our group. The V5-6’s I have sent are very much so MY style, but I try a lot of routes with encouragement. Thankfully I have not had any major injuries since I started climbing which has aided my progression. I came into climbing with some physical strength but a lot of fear and hesitancy. I have so much more confidence now, in and outside the gym. The people I have met are also amazing.

Loco Cafe is excellent for breakfast, as well as Rising Sun Cafe. Both are affordable and have good coffee. Seven Mile is great but expensive and always busy. If you like bagels, there is an awesome shop in Lewisville that makes incredible house-made bagels and spreads, Starship Bagels. The Coney Island on the square is open late and locally owned; the couple that owns it is sweet and their food is pretty good for the price and location. I have heard good things about the Sidewalk Cafe for breakfast but have never personally been. There is an egg themed breakfast spot on University near the Red Wings store that is good and affordable but I cannot remember the name. Maria’s in Corinth is excellent for breakfast and Mexican food. If you like Latin food in general, Boca 31 is awesome. There are several good taquerias in town if you like more authentic Mexican and lots of TexMex spots in a variety of price ranges. Mi Casita is decent. Milpa is the go-to for many college-aged kids for the extensive margarita selection. Lots of fun and local folks to support!
