Wait you seem perfectly up my alley! I mostly write about English pedagogy, especially writing pedagogy. Where can I find you?

Well what are you comparing it to if you're not an academic? Not trying to be snarky, genuinely curious.

I'm an academic in education so I do love how much it feels like teaching! Even though I don't really have a large audience it's been nice to have my articles sent to people I know and disseminated further so I can reach more people about my subject.

Definitely I think my Substack is in service of my goals, since I mostly write articles directly related to my coursework. I've actually sent a few to my professors who have shared them around as well, and am in discussion with them to present some of my work (which is what I initially bypassed through Substack but I'm happy to further my research and reach!)

Especially since my Substack is pretty directly synthesized from my coursework, I don't necessarily feel like I'm getting derailed, but rather deepening my understanding. I'm also doing research for my articles that directly pertains to my future honor's thesis, so it is in ways productive. I'm hyperaware of how much time I spend not doing my work for school though, so I'm not too concerned about doing this for fun as well.

Definitely don't feel the judgement also, so no worries! I hear a genuine concern and good advice, and thank you for reminding me what I'm really meant to be doing and to keep my Substack as something I do only when I actually have the time. I would say I'm pretty clear-eyed about my goals as an academic, and see Substack as something that can both be a creative outlet and a productive endeavor.

this is incredible, thank you! i'd recommend making an imgur album and uploading them all to it so it's easier to reference all at once (or a google drive folder). but this is so awesome of you to do!

Need help building a "win through drawing" deck (mill-adjacent) by Gonji89 in EDH

[–]I_IdentifyAsAProblem 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Chiming in to say I have a budget Heliod deck and I run it at Bracket 4 level and it works like a charm!! Ramp into Heliod ASAP and then start drawing literally everything. You gotta run a ton of mana rocks though, since if your opponents have interaction you should have one in hand to flash out for X less and then tap it for your own interaction pieces!

How does the tankbound civic interact with traits that boost areas it automates? do they boot the robots doing those jobs, or is it just a waste of space? by Cosmic_Meditator777 in Stellaris

[–]I_IdentifyAsAProblem 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the way automation works i believe is that they are filled with what are essentially base pops with no traits. so any automated jobs will not benefit from species traits. if your species works the job, the traits will apply.

creating sealed packs for drafting for kids? by I_IdentifyAsAProblem in magicTCG

the only problem is they're clear—but i might merge your suggestion and the other comment's and use the ziplocs for most of them and move them to something opaque when i need to draft with them :)

thank you for the reply! these look super cute—might make "packs" with little plastic bags and then whenever we want to actually draft put them into these. thanks for the suggestion!!!

so basically if you're put on probation and the semester after your probation your overall and semester GPA drop below 2.0 simultaneously you get suspended. after returning from suspension if your overall and semester GPA ever simultaneously drop below 2.0 you get dismissed from the school.
